I think he meant he never saw Burke/Scott in high school. There was obviously something about Trey/the way that team played that made a lot of people miss on him. If I recall correctly his final three choices were basically his only high major offers and they were Michigan, Penn State, and Cincinnati. not exactly an elite offer list.
Ah yep, I misread that.
You are right about interpreting Burkeās recruiting profile with those being the main players, but i do find it odd that he didnt have more/better offers as he still was a top 100 player by most recruiting sites
EDIT: Just for S&Gs i found this on the site here that gives the narrative of Burkeās recruitment which I found interesting: 2011 Recruiting Profile: Trey Burke | UM Hoops.com
If we have to play Indiana on Saturday, why was the Iowa game moved to Thursday instead of Wednesday to give us an extra day of rest? Both Michigan and Iowa played on Sunday
TV ā Thursday is one of ESPNās prime slots I believe and they have NBA on Weds.
AND edged āFriday Night Smackdown.ā I donāt know why Iām so heartened by thisā¦
I doubt one instance is going to force ESPN to change programming built around a $24 billion television deal
oh that wasnāt a retort to the Weds/Thurs thing. just a cool stat
IMO it is folly to hope for an MSU win tonight. They never do what you want them to. As Dylan said on the pod it smells like Illinois is done messing around. Illini by 40
I agreeā¦at least 20ā¦but the nice thing is that we can take joy in the outcome either way as Michigan fans.
Youāve created quite the prediction gig for yourself. I read them and Iām like yeah, obviously. But then if you happen to be wrong, I will give you credit for the impeccable jinx job. I hope youāve positioned yourself so successfully in areas other than just the Michigan basketball forums lol.
My life is in shambles. This is all I have now
Dumb question maybe but Iāll ask. Will all BIG teams have opportunity to get vaccinated before tournament? Seems like a no brainer but I havenāt read anything.
I would say it is extremely unlikely given that the current wave of vaccinations is focused on at risk groups.
Until Stephen Ross weighs in, never say never.
I would be absolutely shocked if this happened. Furthermore, considering the time required between doses (21-28 days), they wouldāve already needed the first shot.
I donāt want to get into a whole debate on the merits of whether this would be morally acceptable or not but given the role money plays in this country and the amount of money at stake with the tournament I would not be all that surprised if there are players/coaches quietly being vaccinated. I could be wrong and I doubt it would be made public due to the optics but it would not surprise me in the least. I donāt think it could be a NCAA-wide initiative and given how state-level pandemic decisions have been handled it would probably have to happen with a state government. A lot of hypotheticals, but if it was football season and Alabama was in the playoffs I can guarantee you every single person going anywhere near that team would be vaccinatedā¦
Been texting with a buddy who went to Maryland. Itās amazing the hatred that fan base has for Turgeon. They were supposed to finish bottom 3 and are potentially going to make the tournament.
Where do you think he finishes in the big ten coach of the year race?? Iām thinking Juwan, Holtman, Turgeon?
With the bluebloods so bad, the tv networks will be rooting hard for um this march and april. Best tv draw outside of them.
Underwood will be way ahead of Turgeon. Heck, I would suspect even Fran based on record is going to be ahead of him.
Expectations do play a big role in these types of awards, but in this case part of the expectation is his own doing.
