Michigan beat Wisconsin and Purdue by 48 pts over a combined 194 possessions.
And the conference EM numbers show it!
The conference has a reputation for defense yet only three teams are below 100. Is that unusual? Does that bode unwell for the conference in March?
B1G is #1 in Offensive Efficiency this year. Looks like theyāre #1 in defense as well but I know earlier in the year they were not. With 2 of the 4 elite teams being elite offense and not good defense it tracks as well.
Pretty normal.
So Michigan wonāt play Penn State on Feb 23.
Husker Menās Basketball Schedule Update (Feb. 17)
Lincoln - The Big Ten Conference announced an update to Nebraskaās upcoming menās basketball schedule on Wednesday.
The Huskers will now host Penn State on Tuesday, Feb. 23, with the start time to be announced closer to tipoff. The game will be televised on BTN and available on the Fox Sport app. The NU-Penn State game will also be carried on the Learfield IMG College Husker Sports Network.
The original matchup was scheduled for Jan. 30, but was postponed following Nebraskaās pause last month. With today announcement, three of the six game which were postponed have now been rescheduled.
Nebraska Updated Schedule (Feb. 16-23)
Tues. (Feb. 16): at Maryland, 6 p.m. CT (BTN)
Wed. (Feb. 17): at Maryland, 6 p.m. CT (BTN)
Sat. (Feb. 20): vs. Purdue, 4:30 p.m. (BTN)
Tues. (Feb. 23): vs. Penn State, TBD (BTN)
So looks like that has to be NW then? Every other team we need to reschedule plays on the 23rd or 24th. And if we donāt get a game in on the 23rd Iām not really sure what the B1G office is doing.
Still find it really really odd that the conference keeps prioritizing rescheduling the bottom of the conference
I would guess NW on 23rd and ILL on the 25th.
Hopefully we say ānahā to that Indiana home game getting made up. Not good for the team to be playing on average every other day for the rest of the season.
If 18 games is the updated āsweet spotā then cancelling at PSU and home vs. IU seems like a solid bet. Keeps a 50/50 home/away split.
I much prefer to play NW sandwiched in there rather than taking a trip to Happy Valley to play Penn State. That place is a death trap for Michigan. Even moreso if itās in between the OSU and Illinois games

Projected schedule laid out in whole. We should have a good idea whether or not weāre winning the conference title in the next 10-11 days.
Also, thereās going to be A LOT of drama if Michigan finishes the season 14-4 and Illinois finishes 15-5. Going to be an unbelievable shit-storm online.
I like this ^
Iāve started thinkingā¦what are the odds we actually play two games against MSU? Why would MSU agree to a back to back at this point against Michigan other than to satisfy Izzoās innate psychotic desire to beat Michigan at all costs? There isnāt going to be a point where they need it to get into the tournament.
Ugh. Iād rather not play NW at all.
Probably not if Michigan wins H2H, right?
Have you been around the internet lol? Illini fans would still be pissed that we didnāt have to play @PSU and IU or something where one loss would give them a share.
Itād be even worse if we only play 17 games which seems more and more likely.
That would definitely calm it a bit, but Iād bet it would still result in a lot of arguments, Illinois will definitely be lobbying for total wins as the main barometer no matter what.
But, there are definitely reasonable scenarios where we lose to Illinois. Say, we have losses to Illinois, Indiana and Iowa. And letās say that Illinois loses to Minnesota and Wisconsin. We have winning percentage advantage but less wins and a H2H loss.
Yeah, I mean based on what Iāve seen online Illinois fans a) really donāt like Michigan b) are already mad.
