Slap the backboard tech down 28. Yikes.
Wow, thatās the weakest tech Iāve ever seen
Edit: didnāt see the backboard slap live. Thought it was an alleged pull up
Slapping the backboard is an auto-tech.
Well Sparty down 31.
So whatās Izzoās move now? Start walk ons? Make the center court logo even bigger?
There wasnāt much intensity with the slap so I didnāt catch it live.
Weāre only a few more āplease bench meā conversations till Hoiberg and Steven Izzo are out there
Didnāt validate this but someone just told me that Archie Miller is 2-21 against Purdue, Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin.
Just to speak in Garzaās defense, sorta: He really exerts himself running down the floor, and the guy still has baby fat. Heās saving himself for the offense, IMO. With conditioning there is little doubt that he can be a better defender.
I didnāt say nothin about Mr. Garza
He definitely saves himself for offense but thatās also because he just isnāt capable of guarding in space. Thereās not really upside to him ātrying harderā on defense because heās an outright bad defender. He canāt guard ball screens, he canāt guard in space and heās not a good leaper. Iowa plays that bizarro zone to hide him.
Quit maligning the guy!
Edit: Oh. Didnāt mean that to be a reply.
I know he is famously winless against Purdue
Joey Hauser not being able to guard anybody is so fun. Probably my fourth favorite MSU-related subplot this year
The upside might be a bit of an NBA career. Weāve seen some epically bad defenders get better. . . canāt make claims for how much, though, of course. No hops whatever, and kinda flat-footed, so certainly limited. I was just a little surprised to recognize that heās still a little heavy, and chugging!
EDIT: As soon as I write that I go back to the game and watch him, quite literally, stand half a foot from Hauser almost unmoving as Hauser drops in a basket. Ohwell.
I only counted 20 losses but may be wrong. Otherwise the stat is correct, one win vs OSU and Wisconsin each. 3 against MSU though
Is Mark Hollis the entire reason the NCAA gives KPI any weight?
Considering how bad the KPI has been so far you almost hope so.
Thankfully the committee actually pays it no mind. Itās one of the worst at projecting the tourney
Thatās why Garza doesnāt play d
