having a close viewing of Ellerbe’s entire tenure I will beg to differ.
Fran is a mediocre coach in a great conference. He would be a good candidate for at least 100-200 other D1 jobs if he got fired tomorrow.

You are tempting fate my friend. Just begging for a 40-point steamer at the Trohl Center.
On a related note, why in the world were we dragging Mike Smith for like 5 turnovers a game? Looks like Jameis Winston plays every position on other teams; interceptions for everybody.
While all of your counterpoints are super fair and I really do agree with them, is it better to be a top 10 team on Kenpom and torvik or in the AP and coaches poll? Obviously it would be best to back it up in March. But if the hypothesis is that this isn’t a top 10 team and it’s stupid that anyone predicted them to be that, I would disagree.
Quiz: how much money has Fran cost me on DraftKings?
Answer: at least $50
Quiz: how much did Brian Ellerbe cost me?
Answer: $0.
I can do the math here. Fran is infinity worse than Ellerbe.
Q.E.D.
Do you mean turnover rate or A:TO ratio? This is incredibly important
Actually, turnover rate is satan and you’re burning eternally for mentioning it.
But we are talking about Iowa specifically (not computer models as a whole)… So you can’t get around the terrible defense end of the equation regardless of what their efficiency margin is. That’s the biggest thing you should be looking at when comparing similar profiles. And if Iowa was winning all of their games you could overlook it, but they are not so it has to account for something.
Not to mention, seeding is a fairly good predictor of tournament success and you will receive a better seed if your resume is impressive. Iowa had a better chance to go deep in the tourney as a 1 seed than as a 4/5.
I had meant turnover rate, but I’m guessing that you are about to tell me that Mike’s ratio was 5, in which case, objection withdrawn your honor.
No just referencing the hottest debate I’ve witnessed on this board since Jalen Coleman
Northwestern is really Northwestern-ing it.
It’s kinda shocking how many Big Ten teams just do not have a real point guard.
And how we were kinda close to being in the same boat.
nice choke!
Northwestern wants that 10-game losing streak.
NW shouldn’t be able to get a shot off here… IU still has 2 to give.
Did PSU pull a Northwestern last night or is Northwestern pulling a PSU?
“Audige is the one guy who can get his own shot”
Good lord
My money is on the Audacious One bricking a long two.
Somehow IU will win in regulation.
