Iowa still giving up wiiiiide open shots just that Indiana can’t make them.
I’m not sure how this game is going to end, but I’d give about 75% odds of it being really, really dumb.
If it comes down to free throws give me Iowa. IU is terrible from the line.
Was trying to come up with a way to say that - now I don’t have to!
Tony Perkins on Iowa has been averaging 5 MPG over these last 8 games, but I swear on my life those minutes almost always come in the last 10 minutes of close games. I can’t say I understand Fran’s decision of “Hey true freshman who I frequently give DNPs or 1 MPG, I’m also going to play you 5 minutes down the stretch in a close conference game while we’re fighting for conference title.”
If you think Perkins needs to be on the floor for these minutes, I assume that means he’s good enough for more. If you think he’s only good enough to play 5 MPG, why not put those earlier in the game?
This is looking quite prescient.
TJD clanks two then Garza scores on the other end
Keegan Murray just fouled out for Iowa, but his twin brother is also on the roster. How badly do you think Fran just wants to give Keegan Kris’s jersey and try to sell it off as playing Kris?
Race Thompson 1/2, Garza scores again
I don’t love Iowa with Fredrick, but without him they’re not particularly good I don’t think.
Garza wil be NPOY and still it seems like he’s underused.
Huge shot by Phinisee
That says more about the hype we gave Brooks being out than it does Frederick’s absence. Good teams–certainly great teams–should be able to withstand the absence of their 3rd or 4th best players–at least against the middling teams in the league. Michigan’s loss to Minnesota notwithstanding.
Fouling TJD is not the worst decision…
Thompson got away with a bit of a hook on that shot
Here we go…
That was cold-blooded by Franklin
Franklin with the !!!
Franklin big shot!
Fallback long 2 from a guy who was 1-9 from the field before that. Just like Archie drew it up.
