Well, I hope for their sake that the legendary 0.57 ppp performance against Rutgers was the floor. If not… I might need therapy after watching.
MSU is lucky Nebraska didn’t have CJ Fredrick out there.
Maybe I am just naïve but this performance was astonishing even in the context of MSU’s season to date. Twenty two turnovers!
Thomas Kithier, who played 7 minutes in the first half, but didn't return for the second, left the game because he wasn't feeling well, according to Tom Izzo.

Kithier was immediately put in isolation. Nebraska and officials were notified, according to Izzo.
Izzo noted Kithier tested negative (obviously) on his Covid test today. Was pulled from the game as a precaution. https://t.co/duCUPBNo0F

Damonte Williams for Illinois is really shooting 23-39 from three and 16-26 from the FT line.
He was also 35-127 from 3 for his career entering this season.
The guy has one of the smallest usage rates I think I’ve ever seen from a starter. He takes 8% of the shots when he’s on the floor! If you want evidence that shooting is flukey, his teammates still don’t look for him even when he’s shooting 60%
Indiana can be brutal to watch
It doesn’t even seem physically possibly to go 7 minutes against Iowa’s defense and have a single field goal.
My hot take is that their offense is actually worse than MSU’s.
They were absolutely brutal to watch offensively down the stretch against Illinois. Illinois tried to match their futility but just couldn’t.
Indiana HAS to lead the country in attempted post entry pass from the top of the key to the block. Never seen a team do it worse.
Still waiting for Iowa to look like a top 10 team. I assume it’s coming any time now
Open 3s for IU. Who’d have thought Iowa would give those up?
Does this Franbruary feel a lot worse than usual to anyone else?
Iowa’s definitely bad right now. How big of a factor the Fredrick injury is in that, I don’t know. Skeptics will say none at all, but they were playing a lot better when he was healthy IMO.
This first half was like a microcosm of every Fran season.
I bet Iowa today. I still assume they will pull through as long as Garza stays out of foul trouble and can stay on the floor. And if I lose? Great for Michigan.
I jumped on Indiana +10.5 after the early lead. Debating taking Iowa ML now to try and hit the middle
I don’t think Iowa was that bad. Very little Garza and Murray in the 1st half. If they can avoid foul trouble in the 2nd half I can see Iowa stretching this game out.
How can someone say that Fredrick injury hasn’t had an impact? 50% 3 point shooter, a terrific decision maker 37 assists 4 turnovers. Considering they have had 8 turnovers 4 assists this have they might want the decision making of Fredrick.
I definitely think Fredrick is a loss. I probably like him more than most actually. He doesn’t solve Iowa’s biggest weakness though so it’s hard to determine the impact. There’s still only so much that one team can score the ball and Iowa has still been scoring against everyone not named Indiana without him.
He definitely helps with the ability to just out score teams though. It’s just hard to say because they were winning with him before the schedule got tougher. Who knows how they would fare with him against tougher competition.
