Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

Rutgers takes it by 6, Iowa by 17. I base this on absolutely nothing substantial.

Agreed on Iowa, I smell a massive blowout. Garza draws 6 fouls on TJD/Thompson/Hunter in the first 10 minutes and the lead never dips below 15 afterwards.

I think Rutgers-PSU will be a constant heart attack. Great for neutrals but traumatizing for Rutgers fans.

I think PSU takes down Rutgers and continues their tailspin toward the bottom of the conference.

Yeah give me PSU

Penn State tends to turn games into frenetic turnover filled battles. Rutgers has a size advantage on them inside, but neither of their bigs are very efficient post scorers so probably won’t help much. Conversely, Penn State’s defense thrives on forcing turnovers and Rutgers rarely turns the ball over (lowest TO rate in conference and 11th lowest nationally).

No Myles Dread for Penn State tonight.

No bigger opportunity for Rutgers to get back on track

It is truly shocking to see how many mid range shots Penn State takes. The guy just now had a wide open three and randomly took a dribble in to shoot an also open 20 footer.

No Dread and bad shot selection and still up five at the first MTO. Not a promising start for Rutgers

This game feels unusually timeout-heavy.

I feel very validated in my pregame PSU pick right now.

This is worse than a standard B1G home/road split, Rutgers looks like complete trash. I wonder if their early-season 3pt barrage was actually detrimental to their development. They have no offensive shape or style or discipline.

Whoever is guarding Sessoms for Rutgers has had a couple of the most mind boggling on-ball defensive miscues I can recall seeing.

The return of Cliff Omoruyi does not seem to be the cure for what ails Rutgers.

The only 19-20 contributor who didn’t return for Rutgers was Akwasi Yeboah. Was he the glue? I’m not asking sarcastically. This freefall is pretty shocking even if their hot shooting was unsustainable.

Rutgers’ defense this year is 51st unadjusted and 8th in conference. Last year it was 8th nationally and 2nd in conference.

Maybe the opposing coaches just learned to adapt or something? I have no clue.

Hawt damn stick a fork in Rutgers, they are done. They look awful

I will say their body language doesn’t look exceptionally poor or anything. They are playing hard and encouraging each other. So I don’t think there’s a fissure in the locker room to explain this. They just stink.

Who is Palmquist? Why is this guy playing?

Torvik says true freshman getting 9% of minutes with a -0.6 PRG!, lowest on the team
