Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

Wasn’t Michigan interested in Race Thompson out of high school?

Offered him but it never got that serious and then he enrolled early at IU.

Purdue’s game to game 3 point shooting variance for the last 2 years is something else

Yep… pretty nuts.

Please note 3-24 was in Friday’s win over MSU

What a bizarre game this has been

This game might be a three hour affair…without overtime!

Super curious to see how this game affects each team in KP/Torvik. IU was still a metrics darling at tipoff and Purdue’s four factors in conference games were literally all red. Torvik had IU 70% to win.

Purdue up 10 spots to #28 on KenPom, while IU dropped 11 places to #36. IU now predicted to go 9-11 in league play while KenPom has Purdue going 11-8, but likely 12-8 since they have a Nebraska at home to make up.

Over on Torvik, IU is now #31 (down 6) and Purdue #32 (up 9). 9-11 is IU’s new conference projection, 11-9 for Purdue.

Does Archie survive in this scenario?

I think that they likely would’ve gotten a bid last season will be enough to give him another shot if 14-13 (9-11) is their actual record heading into the postseason. But if after five seasons he has no official bids or just sneaks in and gets bounced in the first round, that’s probably it.

Let’s hope so.

would Fife leave for IU or has Izzo promised him the job?

Purdue projected at 12-8 jumps out to me

Okay, glad I’m not the only one. I didn’t want to say anything because I haven’t actually watched a ton of them, but what I have watched of Purdue hasn’t impressed me so that projected record was interesting.

Just looked it up, Purdue somehow got single plays against Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois. There ya go. Talk about a fortuitous schedule.
