Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

The difference between how good Rutgers is at free throws and how good they are at 3s is starting to shrink

Which one??

Maybe not but MSU canā€™t commit another 14 TOs either

Soā€¦which gets ā€œfixedā€ in the second halfā€¦

  • MSU turnovers
  • Rutgers being able to hit a three
  • Rutgers being able to hit a FT
  • Izzo playing fewer than ELEVEN guys

Feels like turnovers is the answer there

MSU turnovers IMO.

This does not look like a game between 2 top 25 teams. Both teams are playing hard though.
Poor Loyer looked so out of place on that little 4-0 run Rutgers put together. He really struggles against quickness to the point heā€™s unplayable

(Is there a chance they arenā€™t top 25 teams though?)

MSU is a different team moving forward if Izzo shaves his bloated rotation and plays Hoggard and Sissoko starter minutes at the 1 and 5.

Almost worth it for those Izzo aneurysm close-ups, though.

He went up for that dunk early on that got absolutely rejected, but it was also wide open. It took him so damn long to get off the ground that everyone had time to recover. I want to feel bad, but also likeā€¦ donā€™t try to dunk when your body is a shell.

Playing Bingham some still feels like a good move for them too. Feel like these guys need a chance to play through a few mistakes.

I watch all these shots missed at the rim and give thanks Hunter Dickinson make it look so easy. Rutgers big guy over shot the rim by two feet on a two foot shot

I disagree, in fact I think Bingham might be their most unplayable guy.

Iā€™m convinced Hunter Dickinson Franz Wagner and Mike Smith would have won that half 3 on 5 against either team, barring auto-bench of course.

If Rutgers hits some threes look out

I need someone that is way smarter with Xs and Os than me to tell me why on earth Rutgers keeps giving Aaron Henry baseline with no help over and over and over and over in this game. I mean Henry has been great but like a baseline drive is his one next level moveā€¦stop giving it to him!

People are burying MSU way too quickly. They probably win this game and will be back in contention at some point. They clearly arenā€™t a vintage MSU team but they are plenty capable of beating us and most other teams in the conference.
