Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

Tom Izzo will be speaking at halftime on behalf of Fran McCaffrey to bring light to the fact that Pete Nance is a “weird guy” who had made five threes all year but made three that half

Why didn’t M get Nance? He is a nice player. I thought at one point it seemed likely Nance was coming to M.

what a wasted half for NW. they played Iowa even without the TOs

And held Garza to 6.

I believe we took Castleton over him

Iowa games are so weird…

NW threw away easily five possessions on double dribbles and travels.

look at that shooting!

Nice to get up 12 more shots in a half … and have more FTA’s.

I think it was actually Johns

Yes!!! It is.

Johns over Nance seemed like the correct decision at the time. Obviously Nance looks more capable at the 5, but hindsight is 20/20. Still time left and Nance’s goodness is very recent. Like… Three games.

Nance pretty garbage before this year. And even now he’s still not even in their top 2 or 3 best players. If you had told me that this is how Nance’s career had gone through 3 years I definitely would have taken Johns

playing Garza helps

And MSU. Now 6th percentile in post defense.

I think I remember everyone assuming Michigan moved on from Nance and Kopp (maybe because of BJJ’s commitment?) but man, I’d like this year’s roster a lot more with Nance instead of BJJ (Kopp too, for that matter). Hindsight 20/20 etc etc

He’s good even if he’s only 4th best on their team. He has nice skill set and good genes. He was awfully skinny in HS, I get that, but he clearly hasn’t approached his ceiling. Looks like a long pro career awaits him should he so desire.

That has to be one of the most ignominious stats in program history if it lasts. That’s like a whole season of Michigan rushing for -48 yards against MSU in 2013
