Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

And possible that the game vs NW on January 3rd is to remain undefeated and in 1st in the B1G.

Tongue-in-cheek on ā€œrunning off the floorā€ sentence  Never seen that at collegiate level

There goes our tourney resume.

Indiana is playing hard, really hard. This is a hotly contested ballgame.

Let me say, not that anyone is particularly interested, I like watching Trey Galloway play basketball.

is he #32?

Illinois running their weird two-big lineup again

I have a take - Illinois this year reminds me of 2013 Michigan. Not in style of play, but they clearly have elite talent but they arenā€™t really going to figure it out in the regular season all the way. I can see them finishing 4th in the B1G, getting like a 4 seed in the tournament and then they get hot, Ayo becomes the baddest man in the country and they make a final 4 run with Curbelo and Miller playing the breakout freshmen roles.

So Northwestern is actually good?

Going to need more mins for Chaundee to guard Ayo when we play Illinois

sure seems like it. thatā€™s three consecutive top-30 wins

If we can beat Maryland I think weā€™ll handle the home games against Minnesota and the juggernaut that is Northwestern. After that there isnā€™t a game remaining on our schedule that Iā€™m really confident in. Itā€™s going to be a crazy run into March for this conference.

total bonehead play by IU guy. just play it out! no point fouling now

Yes number 32

Illinois is going to win this but Adam Miller is going to go scoreless for the 2nd time in 4 B1G games. Heā€™s really slowed down since his scorching hot first 3 games.

Difference is Trey was the best all year. He didnā€™t flip a switch. Donā€™t think Ayo is that caliber. Not to mention 13 Michigan was really good for most of the year, they did get to #2. They just had a mid year lapse

Indiana had 9 assists on 23 FG and shot 1/12 from 3 outside Armaan Franklin. They shot 39% from 2. That offense just stinks.

Who would you rather have Joey Hauser or Isaiah Livers?? Every time I watch Hauser, is plays better than I expect. I really like his deep range from 3 and his ability to get his shot off in the paint off the dribble. Livers is a very good shooter too; maybe a better shooter by the numbers; and probably a better defender, but I get the feeling when watching them both, that Hauser is probably the better player, at least offensively. Interested in watching those two facing each other

This is true. Iā€™m expecting most guys to leave since they will have graduated, but who knows? If football is any indication, most of these guys are choosing to leave.

OSU has some good recruits coming in the next two years. I think their talent level will start to rise and they are already a good club. Branham is in the 2021 class and heā€™s a top 30 recruit. In 2022, they have commits from Gayle Jr. and Thornton and both are top 50ish recruits. Ohio State is also a finalist for Efton Reid for this class (top 30 recruit) and are going hard after Chris Livingston- a consensus top 10 recruit for 2022.

Taking into account the past 2 classes and looking ahead to where things stand for 2022, I think one could make the case that only U of M and MSU have been recruiting better than OSU in the conference. They definitely worry me going forward.
