Home dogs or small favorites are 6-2 about to be 7-2 with Penn State smacking Ohio State
They tied for second with Purdue at 15-3 (MSU won with 16-2). Last season OSU started 2-0 in the league and 12-1 overall before dropping five straight. This season they started 11-1 (1-1) before dropping five of six.
Oturu 0-6 at the half at Rutgers, 2 points (on free throws), 2 rebounds (and he has no fouls, so that’s not the issue). I’m starting to think someone at BIG corporate is putting something in the pregame meals of road teams this year.
Only two of the next 8 on the docket are true road games, and those are at Nebraska and Northwestern. This is the time. Michigan must go on a run during this stretch of the schedule, since the tail end is almost as tough as the slate has been heretofore.
Idle curiosity poll: Based on what you’ve seen in the conference games as well as current NET rankings, etc, how many B1G teams will make the NCAA tournament this year:
I think this will be a bigger year for mid majors making it due to how nondominant most bigger conferences are this year. Not sure how Minnesota or Purdue can make it with their OOC unless they win at least 13 B1G games, and I do not have faith in Indiana. I think 8 is more likely than 10 at this point. Still put 9 in for the vote tho.
Any legit B1G hoops fan who isn’t subscribed to this newsletter probably just hasn’t heard of it yet. Such great content. The rest of the conference is lucky to be getting the UMhoops treatment that we have been enjoying for close to a decade.
This just shows that there are NO gimme wins on the road this year. Every single game will be a dog fight. We need Livers back ASAP because without him we likely don’t get to .500 in the conference.
