20ppg from Wagner is very optimistic and I would say with 99 percent certainty he will not average that lol
I definitely wouldnât be counting out winning the B1G. Our ceiling, if Livers returns and Todd does indeed end up coming, I would be confident in saying we have a good shot at the B1G title and a 1-3 seed in the tournament.
He averaged 16 PPG over the last 7 games of last season. But that was also on a team where he wasnât the go-to option and his usage was around 17-18%
I think he clearly will be option #1 on next yearâs squad given the lineup and that usage will go up to 22%-25%. Logically 20ppg is not that ridiculous and probably not something you should be 99% sure wonât happen.
Especially as he continues to improve as he showed he is down the stretch last season
The more I think about it, I agree. Even if just one of Livers or Todd is on the team I think they can win the B1G. Theyâll still have a rather deep team and if Bajema and Zeb can contribute right away, even better.
If Todd isnât on the team we can still win, definitely not sure about Livers though.
Lol Stauskas averaged 17.5 and Burke averaged 18.6. Even if we play faster there is next to a 0 percent chance that Wagner averages 20 ppg. It is indeed that ridiculous. That isnât even the type of player he is.
Burke and Stauskas averaged that on teams that were loaded with NBA talent. Michigan potentially has that again this next season, but Franz wonât have Tim Hardaway Jr, GRIII, McGary, Caris Levert, etcâŚNor is Franz in the same offensive system that Burke or Stauskas were in.
I realize 20 ppg is asking a lot, but it is not out of the realm of possibility. Also, he can average 17 or 18 over the season, but that would still mean he has multiple games of 20-25 points which I think you have to be blind if you think he isnât capable of that.
Wow! I do.not believe it. I went to bed last night with certainty Iâd wake up with him at UM. My sincerest apologies to all. I had spoken to his brother AND cousin on multiple occasions and how people can lie so easily is numbing. I just donât believe it. Go blue! And hopefully weâve got a backup plan because thatâs huge.
20 ppg is out of the realm of possibility. 17-18 is probably the highest range of being realistic but I am not counting on that.
The team has plenty of talent, but it isnât as simple having talent. The most important thing you can have in basketball is a player that can create shots, particularly with the style of offense that Juwan runs. The only player with any chance to be able to do that at an average level is our miniature Ivy League grad transfer. Maybe itâd be less necessary if we were running a Beilein 2 Guard, but we arenât. Shot creation wins games.
At this point if I was Livers, Iâd just go pro. Zero chance of his stock improving without Christopher on the roster.
Also, Franz was a freshman last year. Stauskas averaged 11 PPG as a freshman and Burke averaged 15 PPG as a freshman.
It wasnât until their Sophomore years that they went up to 17.5 and 18.6 respectively. If Franz makes a Sophomore jump like those two, then how is 20 points out of the realm of possibility?
To play devilâs advocate, one could argue he could improve his stock more without Christopher since there is more of the pie for him to take offensively.
How many people in college basketball do you think average 20ppg? Itâs not a lot.
Youâre good, man. If this is how him and his family conduct their business, might not be the kind of person we want in our program. Go Blue!
Iâve got to imagine that Livers has self-awareness of what his game is at this point. Heâs not a guy who could handle high on-ball usage.
I feel very confident in saying I donât think Michigan has much of a chance to win the Big Ten. Someone explain how this becomes a top 20 offense? Or a top 40 defense?
Our roster as it stands screams 8-12 seed
This is very fair
I believe you are undervaluing the abilities of Wagner, Brooks, Johns, and the incoming #4 recruiting class. They have 4 top 100 guys coming in as it standsâŚif none of those 4 can contribute right away, I would be shocked.
I realize itâs not a lot of players. There were 28 players last year who did it and 2 B1G players (Garza and Oturu). Averaging 20 PPG over the entire season is asking a lot, but that doesnât mean Wagner doesnât have the ability to potentially become that.
I at the very least expect multiple games next season where he has 20+
Man imagine coming on here to call people liars because you were wrong. You could easily just say âSorry - I was wrongâ, or âsorry - my information was badâ. InsteadâŚ
This stuff doesnât help - its just going to stir up âThe Christopherâs are assholesâ sentiments because he had the temerity to go somewhere else and internet posters got emotionally invested.
