I like that we are in an era of the most superlative athlete and he plays the game like Jack Twyman
denver media about to go crazy with jamal injury excuses, they LOVE to carry his water
With a receding hairline too!
that Ant turnaround baseline jumper looks just like you know who
He’s talking about the majority of the Nuggets bench leaving because the CBA made it impossible for them to offer extensions (Bruce Brown, Jeff Green)
The Nuggets were eating shooting variance against the Lakers, so I don’t really agree with your point (a 4 game stretch under 30% from 3), but obviously game 1 this series was not that at all.
Championship windows are definitely not long these days unless you have Lebron James. The problem of the nuggets window is that it probably started the year Jamal tore his acl so they essentially missed 2 of their championship window years.
I don’t think the window is closed, mind you. But getting sonned by a young up and coming team in your own conference certainly doesn’t bode well
Not to mention Popovich just drafted a freak of nature that might be the first pick in a league wide draft right now
Also, the TWolves are basically playing defense like you don’t really see anywhere. They had the legs and organization to trap and press Murray et all off of MISSES, which I’m not sure I’ve ever seen at any level? Alexander-Walker’s combo of size and and lateral athleticism basically makes him Caldwell-Pope++ on defense right now, right?
Murray looked rough, but I’m not sure I’ve seen a guard face that level of consistent pressure anywhere. Murray is generally big compared to other guards, but he’s getting guarded by some combo of Edwards, Alexander-Walker, and Conley here, who range from maybe not tall but very strong (Edwards), tall but maybe not burly (Conley), or tall AND burly (Alexander-Walker)
Getting Alexander-Walker for basically nothing as a throw-in was a good trick.
The TWolves will have a tough time keeping their team together. They need an eventual replacement for Conley. I think they are at the second apron with just the ten players they currently have signed for next year. Plus they’re in some weird ownership limbo.
Yeah, the Gobert/Edwards/Towns trio will be really really hard to keep.
Only needed 2 of em last night!
If they get a title out of it, it’s worth it.
Naz Reid is gonna be paid as well. He has a player option for 15 mil in 25/26 but he should probably opt out. He will be 16 at that time.
Dunno, that options feels like my limit for Naz Reid
Regardless they have him for another year
Nuggets window pretty much comes down to if Jamal is going be like last year in the playoffs, this year in the playoffs or right in the middle basiclaly regular season Jamal. You’re not going win a title without two top 20 players. Last year Jamal played like one in the playoffs.
That’s really reductive though. Murray was bad yesterday, but so was Porter, so was Jokic. In game 1, Jokic/Murray/Porter scored 69 points on 52 shots, and handed out 14 assists to 7 turnovers, and they couldn’t score 100 as a team. The problem includes Murray but its far far larger than Murray, as much as we want to narrative this, the numbers don’t suggest its a “Murray problem”.
it’s extremely odd to me that we’re in an era of uniform experimentation, often with hideous results, but OKC continues to use its expansion uniforms from 2008
I love those uniforms
true dads love to say “it’s a make or miss league”
This Thunder crowd is like a college crowd with everyone wearing their assigned t shirts.
