2024 NBA Playoffs Thread

Advance the ball has a purpose to make the game interesting. Losing a timeout over a successful challenge is pointless.

Maybe KD and LeBron can team up together next year to try and win a ring

I feel like there’s an outside chance lebron and Steph team up

Agree it creates excitement but it’s a bs benefit to have that ability

yeah I decided the Nuggets playing w their food (dumb turnovers, some other mental lapses) and the insane FT disparity is low key the story of that game.

super fun to watch tho

That would be a shame . Steph deserves way better

Don’t think I’ve seen Jokic play a sloppier game

Murray was not good this series but has there been a bigger playoff riser in nba history than him? Like I am a nuggets fan and even I admit I don’t think he’s really ever had a season where he’s been close to deserving of an all star berth. The dude goes from top 50 regular season player to a top 10 playoff player.

The highest leverage playoff situations I think tend to make his flaws less relevant and his skills—especially playing w Jokic ofc—much more relevant.

Jokic is totally dependent on him for the playoff success they have.

Feel like this really downplays Jokic. Jokic makes Jamal Murray’s job so much easier.

It’s the reality with any star big, not just Jokic. You need to have a big time guard to advance in the playoffs. You don’t need a big time big.

The Nuggets move because of Jokic though. Obviously Murray has helped propel them but without Jokic, the nuggets would be a borderline playoff team.

The leagues changing a little. Denver won with Jokic as their best player, Bucks won with Giannis when they didn’t have great scoring guards

No strong opinion on Nuggets-Wolves but I thiiiiink I like the Wolves? That seems to be the emerging consensus too?

Feels like overthinking to say extra Laker FTs is the huge difference between the 2 series.

There are also only a handful of great bigs. There are a million good guards. Almost every team has good guards so naturally it’s going to look like the good guards are advancing

You can give the ball to Giannis on the perimeter and create. He isn’t a true big.

I think Nugs got the edge but people forget that the 8 seed wolves last year have the Nuggets the most trouble in the playoffs.

Should be fun. Not sure there’s a more exciting snd fun player in the NBA than Ant Man

The reality is you need lots of good players to win a title unless you have a GOAT in which case you might be able to carry one merely average NBA player in your 5.

Meanwhile guys who do the shooting tend to get more credit than they deserve.

Winning 48 games with this roster of Aaron Gordon + a bunch of dudes who were out of the league within 12 months may be jokic greatest accomplishment. In the last 20 years, only prime lebron takes a roster like that to 48 wins.
