This Houston team, wow
Kelvin Sampson can flat out coach. Probably because he looks just like Nick Saban
If you had told me after the Arizona game that we would go as far as Arizona lol
And we lost by less to a better seed!
Well, it is unfair for Arizona to have to play a 1 seed in Sweet 16!
If Duke wins the whole thing, I will never stop throwing up.
Like, I will quietly admit the Illini really got boned by the seeding this year, Houston is winning the entire thing. They are going to stuff Villanova in a trashcan and obliterate this nondescript Kansas team. Duke, purdue…these teams are soft as baby sh it and lol I’d love to see UCLA and TT get outtrolled by the ultimate rage inducing squad in Houston. They’re winning it.
Houston has singlehandedly brought out my appreciation of rebounding, it’s so fun to watch. Incredible coaching
They had a rough tourney in general. They looked nothing like the team I watched throughout the year in this round or last round really . Houston is very tough but Zona looked like they were on another level for much of the year.
I’m at work so I had to watch the duke game more but when I did got glimpses they just didn’t have it.
Hot take, that Duke/Texas Tech game was great. Enjoy watching Banchero, so smooth with the ball. Doesn’t feel like a typical “hatable” Duke team aside from their coach. Williams, Roach, all good stories and hope they keep winning.
Illini got shafted with a rough draw of Loyola-Chicago in the same region pod last year and Houston this year. Both were KenPom top 10-15 team and were vastly underseeded. However, I am not shedding tears for Illini because you have to play what’s in front of you in the tournament and just win games. They couldn’t.
Michigan got Tennessee in the 2nd round in which Tennessee should’ve been a #2 seed but it is what it is.
Nah. I mean, ok, as a 1 seed you should expect slightly easier draws in the round of 32 but there’s no excuses, you need to win the games in front of you and Loyola got knocked out by Oregon St iirc.
Weird things happen in individual games, etc - hence upsets. But as I’m watching St. Peter’s drawing even with a third pretty damn good basketball team, jamming up the third straight high powered offense, the less flukey this feels.
If I’m Seton Hall, I’m feeling good that I’m upgrading in head coach right now.
Seriously. The question is if St. Peter’s can score enough to win, but this three game run of defense is really impressive. They’re guarding a team who plays through the post with a 7’3” monster and a 6’9” bruiser with a 6’6” 190 pound guard (who somehow blocks a billion shots).
Nova had their off shooting night.
I could see Jay Wright scheming a win against Houston.
I really wish Painter had figured out how to go full 5 out with this personnel. I think he could have and that would’ve made Ivey a cheat code.
Edey kicking out offensive boards when guarded by a guy 9 inches shorter is just wild.
Is Matt Painter’s seat a little warm if they lose?
Not sure how it’s coming off on TV but the crowd is very into it in Philly. Obviously everyone but Purdue fans rooting for Saint Peters.
That was hideous, Purdue
