Someone was telling me the other day that teams that go far in the BTT especially 4 games in 4 days struggle and often lose early in the tourney. Maybe that’s true but my view is skewed significantly by Michigan’s 2017 and 2018 teams.
I quit basketball. How on earth did I fall for this again
I actually really like that whoever this color announcer is has no hesitation calling out the bad officiating here and then pulling in Gene Steratore to back it up. I get sick of announcers avoiding showing replays or not calling a spade a spade. They hold the players and coaches accountable - need to do the same to the refs.
That ref on the Murray three was staring right at it. Watched an NBA lottery pick miss the rim by 3 feet on a jump shot and didn’t blow his whistle. I’m indifferent to Iowa, but come on man.
Somehow I don’t see these refs in the Iowa game going far in the tournament
They’re kind of like Iowa.
My Marquette pick isn’t looking good haha
hahahahahahahaha hahahhahaha
this is totally a sent-hahahahahahahahahahaha
And in the end, new Fran is still the old Fran.
Last time a B1G tourney winner lost in the first round was even more memorable than this one.
Yeah I’d rather be Phrankie than Fran right now
That is honestly insane that Iowa loses this game after how hot they were. I think Fran and Iowa are just cursed in the tournament.
Sucks for Iowa and the B1G but not complaining for my bracket’s sake
Watch him lose to Richmond.
Man, I’m becoming an instant Jacob Gilyard fan. I like his attitude.
{checks the scoreboard}
{can’t see it}
“I don’t know how many points they had, but I’m pretty sure we held them under their average.”
Classic.
I’m not 100% sure who it is, but if I had to guess that team lost to Middle Tennessee St.
2013 Michigan destroyed the mystique of Shaka Smart in the tourney.
Caption contest!
I was thinking it was Loyola-Chicago (vs Illinois) last year, but that was second round.
MTSU is the correct answer.
Also everyone should tune into Gonzaga-Georgia State for the 2nd half. Gonzaga is only up 2 (despite GA State having one guy with 3 fouls and another with 4). The game is basically a pick up game except neither team can hit a shot, wildly dumb and entertaining.
Not sure why Gonzaga is struggling so much, this is like the standard WCC opponent that they frequently crush
