Yep, and the already-high ticket prices are likely to tick up a bit.
I am absolutely going to refer to this as a blowout in future internet fights. Sorry, Mr. color commentator.
I don’t know, but I vow to call him Opie for his entire Illinois career.
Im on my couch wearing my Houston shirt just smiling right now
Wow Illinois has been brutal offensively this whole weekend. Hard to believe since they are always a flamethrower against us. But they have been absolutely miserable on offense.
Illinois will have a Sweet 16 drought old enough to vote next year.
At least their shared B1G banner can keep them warm as they watch the sweet 16 from the outside
Arizona travels really well - they had more fans in Las Vegas than UNLV did.
Serious note it will be interesting to see where Illinois and Underwood go from here. Have to assume Kofi leaves. Curbelo can’t even get off the bench and have to imagine that may benefit both parties to move on.
Real shame they haven’t been able to parlay this talent they had into more success…
Not gonna lie, short of Michigan winning as much as possible, Illinois going out this weekend was the result I wanted more than anything else. Over MSU, OSU or Wisky losing early. Between hating them and their fans, being scared of them actually having the ability to make a deep run (which I really don’t worry about with the other 3 teams), and desperately wanting them to finish these two “great seasons” without a S16 appearance before their team all leaves, this is just pure ecstasy for me.
The Illini pretty well establishing themselves as a non-tournament team. Last year, it was blamed on the long B1G Tournament run. I wonder what Underwood will have to say this year.
Round of 32 banner time!!
Of all the places I have been for non-rival football away games, was treated the worst by far in Bloomington. Pretty sure my “F Michigan” count was well above 70 by the time I got back to the car. Even a homeless guy on the way in to find parking was giving me the business when I was stuck in traffic.
Illinois just ran into a buzz saw today. Houston is really good. Literally number 2 on Kenpom. They should have been a 3 or a 4.
I am glad Illinois lost and do not like them. But in fairness, they’ve had extremely tough draws in the tournament. Last year faced a 10 seed in the KP top 10, and this year a 5 seed ranked #2. Brutal. But also hilarious.
At what point do we speak of Underwood as a bad tourney coach?
Frazier can’t ever hurt us again
Kevin Harlan, inject that Illinois shade into my veins
