2021 NCAA Tournament Open Thread

Very annoying to look in to the sun. Time to pull the drapes shut. Seriously, the arena staff are going to have to fix that somehow.

I mentioned this on the pod, but it is very weird to be covering the NCAA Tournament from home. Usually spend most of this week in the basement of an arena, even on off days for pressers and stuff, and then in a bar.

Can really maximize the multi-screen viewing experience now.

I don’t think I’ve seen any shots made from that little area of the court. 0-4 from my count

MSU was a trap game for Illini. It was sandwiched between Iowa and Michigan game.

Turnovers a mess for both teams in that first half.

Castleton has been very active, but also making some mistakes in the first half.

This is one of the few games that I picked both ways in different brackets this year. Not thrilled with either team, but 3 point shooting will probably decide the winner.

Drexel has no answer for Cockburn. No surprise here.

Blood everywhere in the Florida game

Yeah 55 on Colgate got called for two of the worst fouls. Two separate calls because Arkansas players happened to miss fastbreak layups and the refs decided that this must mean a foul occurred. Both had Mo Wagner level reactions.

Who’s this Castleton guy on Florida? He’s a stud.

Va Tech’s Radford is feeling it today

Yeah great footwork by Castleton, wonder where he learned that.

This isn’t necessarily great basketball, but it’s a great game. So far at least. My heart says root for Castleton, my bracket says Tech.

Raftery loves him some Colin.

Castleton just stuffed the sh** out of that dunk that would’ve gotten it to a one possession game.
