Who? Not our rivals. Is this post an OT post?
Couldnât agree more - Loyola ran their offense to a T every time down the court. They played immaculate defense with everyone knowing where they needed to be in position to help when they trapped the ball handler on high screens. Maybe the most high IQ basketball game Iâve seen (reminded me of a Beilein run team). Just fantastic preparation, coaching, and follow through.
Having to play while Michigan was lounging put them at a serious disadvantage in todayâs game.
If Indiana fans would pop Hoosiers into their DVD player, they might realize that this style of basketball would fit their brand.
Listening again to Kellogg I think he was just trying to, sort of, âshow offâ his intellect and depth of thinking, BUT, the only chaos I saw was on the part of Illinois. This was a precise and clinical, even surgical, take down of a higher ranked team, by a finely tuned, well coached one who came ready to play. Great win for Loyola.
Embarrassing for the conference, thank goodness I didnât do a bracket this year, and I really thought Illinois was our best chance as a conference to go deep⌠but there are too many hard feelings. This isnât the SEC and Illinois can suck a lemon.
Iowaâs going to carry the B1G torch arenât they?
I donât give a ratâs behind about the B1G. They all hate Michigan, why should we cheer for them
My hopes are on Rutgers and Maryland
Can Davison do it again?!
No.
Michigan back to #2 in KenPom. Loyola-Chicago just ahead of Alabama (!).
May not augur well that I turn it on to see Davison miss a layup.
Illinois was over the top in the way they acted at Crisler a few months ago and Underwood didnât even feign class at the end of the game so I will take some pleasure in this one even though their players are generally likeable.
Brad Davison career highlight!
If the foreword is written by Pete Carroll, does it really count as a book? (Ed: I knew that spelling didnât look right)
I read that book in high school and remember it being pretty useful.
Normally I support B1G teams other than MSU and OSU but add Illinois to that list now. So glad those jerks lost.
After âkarma,â I canât root for Maryland either. I think all I got left is Iowa, Wisconsin, Rutgers and Northwestern.
Loyola has more Sweet 16 appearances in the last five years than MSU, OSU or Illinois. In fact, more than all three combined.
Mark Turgeon has reported this post to the league office.
⌠and I hope you have your hall pass, young man.
