Brad Underwood: “This was a weird season. We all know the NCAA tournament didn’t really matter this year but we showed up and played our game against Loyola because we believe in fairness” (or some other stupid cr@p).
“Top Half of Teams That Made the Tournament”
And he made his free throws too.
Porter Moser needs a major gig ASAP.
“Top 1% of all NCAA teams”
It’s scary how much that gif defines every single moment of schadenfreude in my life.
“Only Outscored By 4 Points In The Second Half - 3/21/21”
And Down goes my bracket
I agree. So impressed with his behavior and demeanor at the end. Gathering his teammates at the FT line even when it was obvious they weren’t going to win. Consoling teammates, hugs for the Loyola players, arm around Curbelo walking off the floor. Class kid.
Brad Underwood is not a bad coach by any means. But he got it absolutely handed to him today. Zero adjustments to anything Loyola did. The players executed but Loyola had a much better game plan.
Porter Moser is a REALLY good coach!
I only disagree with one word in your first sentence.
I disagree. An important part of a coach’s job is setting a good example for your team. You do not want your child to grow up to whine like Bubba Underwood.
Clark Kellogg using “chaos” to describe that is … something. That was a systematic, organized, comprehensive beat-down. It was the least chaotic 8 over 1 seed possible.
“Chaos” was ACU/Texas.
This just in: Clark Kellogg may not be a particularly insightful analyst.
Has me really concerned for tomorrow.
Well, that was a bummer. But maybe not for Illinois since their coach says none of these games matter.
Greg Gumbel got it right. This was a clinic of fundamentals by Loyola. Excellent fundamental basketball team and very well coached. They were a joy to watch.
Illinois probably just had tired legs from playing all the games on their schedule
