Caruso is the Lakers’ Eli Brooks.
I thought KCP traveled multiple times there before the kickout, but replay shows he kept the pivot. Good no call.
Dang. Jordan had a great look the previous possession, shame he couldn’t hit it. Lakers got bailed out by sloppy turnovers by the warriors and favorable reffing
what a colossal shot by the LeBrontosaurus
Heck of a game. Hope the Warriors beat Memphis and we get to see Steph try to singlehandedly beat the Jazz in a seven game series.
Thought for sure Poole’s shot was going down.
Doubt the owners vote for it. Only reason they could justify it this year is due to the shorter schedule.
Poor 2nd half from warriors. So many wild turnovers.
They’ll see the ratings from tonight and see this for the extra revenue it can bring. Celtics-Wizards put up 2.3 million viewers. Tonight’s finale will probably be over 3.5 million if I had to guess. Play in tournament is here to stay imo.
The play-in is great until we end up with 4 games of Dillon Brooks against the 1 seed instead of Steph Curry
Going from that Spurs offense to that Warriors offense gave me whiplash.
Poole with the assist!
AD and Lebron need second year man Jordan Poole’s comments to provoke them into playing harder or better?
Good to know.
Exactly. If the Grizzlies end up winning than the play in was an unmitigated disaster for the NBA and fans. And if it didn’t exist the Grizzlies and Warriors would have had a “play in” on the last day of the season for the 8 seed anyway
I mean, I think their comeback had more to do with playing AD at the 5 and spacing the floor, and I often think there’s too much narrative put on games that usually come down to “make or miss”, but from watching last night, I do think the Lakers needed a wake up call. Plus, it came straight from AD’s mouth as opposed to the TV guys for instance, so I assume it was at least a factor.
Wow, I was way off on my guess. 5.6 million viewers for LAL-GS last night, highest rated NBA game on ESPN since the 2019 WCF. Play-in games are here to stay.
Not a surprise. It was a long time since I saw a NBA game until these play in games. It always seem like just one more game among many, even the play off. With the play in it’s now or never. I wish there were less games in an NBA season. That’s just not going to happen, but I would watch more.
I think it’s actually trending the opposite - even the EC games got more eyeballs than the normal playoffs (it was a “game 7”) and that’s not considering last nights rating bonanza
while it may be here to stay, the relative amount of money generated from 6 extra games is extremely minimal compared to the total revenue they already bring in.
