Nice work with the ball in that shot. Hat-wearing form needs serious work.
Detroit native.
Expected to be a grad transfer too. Wouldnāt be shocked if he popped onto Michiganās radar if they miss on Christopher.
Yes, heās a grad transfer. With or without Christopher, he seems like he would be an intriguing target based on the other names Michigan has reached out to in the portal.
I think it depends on if multiple perimeter players transfer out/isaiah or Franz declare. If multiple of either happens then I could definitely see it happening. Also wouldnāt be shocked if MSU put a priority on him. I imagine he will be above Hardy on the pecking order for both programs.
I like the Turner option based on video I just watched
Yeah based on what ive seen and heard, hes the top transfer available thus far. Iād take him over towns, nolley, and Aiken.
Nice to have options.
Article about turner when um was showing him a look as a backup plan for Winston. He says he grew up a huge Michigan fan. Also id bet saddi recruited him at Oakland and jay smith recruited him at Detroit.
The young man was the leading scorer at BGSU each of the last three years. There are certainly connections here at Michigan. Saddi. Grew up a Michigan fan. And, seriously, what Michigan kid, or any kid really, wouldnāt want to play for Juwan. Donāt know how everything will shake out but this kid could most assuredly become a priority!
Just on a surface look, pretty good size. Decent shooting numbers. Worse assist to turnover ratio than Eli Brooks, though. Mixed results in his two games against PowerConference opponents this season ā really good at LSU, struggled mightily vs Cincy.
I tend to be skeptical of transfers jumping up in conference weight class and for that reaseon Iād prefer Nunez and Bajema to return over a mid-major/low-major transfer, but if a scholarship is available Turner would seem to be a decent risk.
Nunez over this kid? Really?
I am not saying we force anyone currently on the roster out. but if there is an opening yes. And yes again in ragards to if I think this player would be a bigger impact next year.
The B1G has a 4 year guarantee on scholarships. If Adrien doesnāt want to leave, nobody can make him.
Okayā¦ which is completely irrelevant to the post I responded to where the guy said he would āpreferā Nunez to a grad transfer. Iām not saying just to boot the kid either but he pretty clearly is never going to contribute meaningful minutes.
As a player, you make up your mind where you belong after mid-season. If you are a part of the rotation, your chances of being a part of the rotation, who is recruited, who is coming, etc. The writing is on the wall either way. If you feel your chances to be a part of the rotation next year are slim to none, you need to start looking elsewhere, and let your coaches know about it.
My take is that Juwan already knows who is looking for a different school, who is looking to battle it out for a rotation spot, and who is willing to wait for a year to be a part of the rotation. And he is acting accordingly to fill all the scholarship spots.
How many people were drooling over Jaaron Simmons or last year were clamoring for Justin Pierce or any of the other smaller school transfers who stepped up in weight class. The plug-and-play mid/low-major transfers usually underwhelm. And the power conference kids who get processed out to make room for them more often make a bigger impact.
Again, if Michigan has a scholarship open, yeah, Turner seems like a OK way to fill the open slot. But if Michigan has a chance to re-recruit a kid on the edge, Iād prefer making a push to keep someone already on the roster over taking a flier on a mid-major like Turner.
I think that is the way most of us think. Ifā¦ one or more of the players currently on scholarship decide to seek other options and there is an open spot than this player looks to be a pretty good fit.
I do think thereās a difference between Aiken and towns ( if healthy ) compared to your normal mid major transfer. They chose to go that route for Iām assuming the unique educational opportunity not because it was the best basketball option presented to them.
Theyāre true high major talents. Turner appears to be so too but I knew nothing of him before hand so I canāt say that for him. He looks really talented though.
Radfordās Carlik Jones (6ā1 G) entered the portal. Heāll be immediately eligible and just averaged 20 PPG, 5.5 APG and 5.1 RPG as the Big Southās player of the year. Had a 120 ORTG on 31.4 USG. Heās one of the best players available now IMO.
