2020 Transfer Market

Is he a take no matter if he has to sit?

One tidbit about Sibande is he played for C2K Elite. A UAA program ran by Quincy Simpson. Xavier’s dad.

I feel like that makes him slightly more appealing to me. Will give us more experience next year. Don’t know how the staff feels though

:face_with_monocle:

Looking at his stats, it is tough to see where Sibande improves the roster? His shooting doesn’t look great and the assists/turnover ratio is upside down. Add to it Miami’s weak strength of schedule and it is tough to see an upside if Sibande up-transfers.

Assist to turnover ratio about as bad as it gets, not a great three point shooter, and played at a MAC school. I’d rather bank the scholarship or wait for a better option if the waiver comes through.

You could convince me that Sarr would make sense for U-M to target…

A little foul prone but other than that, yeah, do want.

I’m not sure the staff will go for it but yeah, he’d improve our team more than Sibande. A waiver seems likely considering his coach left? UK still needs a C though I think so they might go hard here

Yeah, have to assume that Kentucky pushes for him after missing on Haarms.

Gotta love this:

247Sports first broke the news that UK and Sibande had been in touch, with various other outlets – including Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com – reporting similar news in the time since.

Despite the significant reports, news of UK reaching out to the 6-foot-4 guard originally out of Indianapolis, IN came as a surprise to several individuals within the Kentucky basketball program. A few were unfamiliar with Sibande’s game and transfer status entirely.

After reaching out to numerous people on Sibande’s side, Kentucky’s side, and in regular recruiting circles, sources tell KSR that interest and contact was initiated by the Miami standout. Sibande is close with UK forward Keion Brooks Jr. – a native of Fort Wayne, IN – and his family, and grew up a fan of the Kentucky basketball program, so it’s no shock that he’d be interested in playing for John Calipari in Lexington.

Is tillman even an option at this point?

Jalen Coleman-Lands might be a real target now.

Worth noting now. Sibande cuts his list to Alabama, Arkansas, Georgetown, Georgia, and Xavier.

Who’s out there at the guard position? Jose Perez cut his list to ten without Michigan as well.

Lol Michigan is cursed at SG. There is a huge opportunity for anyone to come in and play 25-30 minutes and nobody is taking it. Can’t get a couple mid major transfers to take it. Can’t get any top 40 recruits to take it despite starters minutes and major usage available. Season success almost hinges on the immediate transfer rule passing AND someone actually wanting to take the very obvious opening in the rotation.

They’ve basically been involved in one shooting guard transfer recruitment right? Justin Kier.
