Well Miller and Martelli are not confirmed yet…
Right, talking potential. Eisley would be a nice Detroit/point guards in general recruter.
Isn’t Saddi recruiting Michigan? And doing a hell of a job doing it…
Does anyone know who in 20 that Saddi was recruiting hard? Feels like we’re starting from scratch with everyone. Hoping Chicago connections pull through for us.
Supposedly Kesslers family implied Michigan was in the lead before Beilein left
Yeah I saw that on Kessler. Don’t buy it, lol. Seems like an easy thing to say once he’s gone when there was zero inkling of it before
Beilein had an ability to make a strong first impression — but then the BlueBloods would get involved and UM would fade to brides-made with many of the elite recruits
Because of the way Beilein recruited.
Nothing to do with him being clean.
He didn’t hound kids. He didn’t chase.
He let them come to him. Worked for the most part.
I think Howard will approach it different.
Agreed, people always say stuff like that once the opportunity is gone.
Pretty decent chance that was Sam doing a guy he obviously likes a ton a bit of a favor. Think it’s VERY likely his source was Dre.
Was thinking the same thing today, would love to know the process of how Juwan gets caught up on who he wants to target. He has seen some kids play due to his sons but assume he doesn’t know the recruiting depth charts.
Martelli has connections but will not have much contact with the caliber of recruit the staff will pursue. Eisley has absolutely none, assuming those guys are the assistants. One would think Saddi takes the lead on getting people up to speed. Hiring a recruiting coordinator was talked about on the podcast, have no clue what the role entails or what experience you need but hope somehow they can lure someone with connections if that is a new opening.
I’m not sure what you mean
I’m guessing Dre said he thought Kessler was in the bag and letting that out helps Dre a bit.
Wouldn’t this literally be Chris Hunters job?
No. Chris does administrative stuff like travel planning.
For a future job?
Lance Ware still lists Michigan as a school that is on him hard. I find it interesting that he mentions Saddi. It seems like Ware wants to go to Michigan much more than Michigan wants him. He’s visited several times over the last 2 or 3 years and still lists Michigan even though Beilein is gone and there obviously is way more than those 5 or so schools recruiting him. Likely every single one has talked to him more than Michigan has including schools he didn’t mention. I watched him in Indy and was impressed, but he’s a bit of a tweener for a 5 man. Skilled and pretty athletic though. If Howard really goes for him it seems like they’d have a strong shot at landing him. He seems to refuse to not want to mention Michigan whenever possible. And I imagine just about any big man going forward will at least be intrigued by Michigan with Howard in charge. I wouldn’t be opposed to landing him either if he wants to be at Michigan that bad and is a need on the roster.
Did he grow up a Michigan fan?
I want to recruit an entire team of tweeners that will all stay 4 years and see what happens. The best players the NBa will never want. Call it the Cassius effect
No clue but I believe he has gone to 2 or 3 Michigan camps over the years. One of them as a freshman or 8th grader. I’m guessing he and/or his family are pretty fond of the school or he wouldn’t have made multiple unofficial visits from New Jersey, and still lists Michigan despite not getting an offer even though Loveday, Kessler and Isaiah Jackson all got as much or more love towards the end of the Beilein era. Kessler and Loveday got offers.
I thought I remember him being a 3/4 like johns or iggy. He plays the five?
