2020 - F - Isaiah Todd (Commit)

What do we know about this account? 30 followers makes one wonder.

Totally fair question…I don’t know this account.

Well I mean it’s not like the account is claiming any to know anything that nobody knows. Just repeating what Todd himself said. Unless you think think the account is just making that exchange up, which is possible but I’m sure someone else can confirm either way.

I just didn’t see anything on Will Barton or Todd’s IG or any other mentions of this on Twitter. I’m assuming it’s the Nuggets Will Barton.

i think the tweet said on the IG live, so it wouldn’t be on their normal feed. Would have to be in the live room and/or screenshot to confirm.

It is fair to wonder if anyone else noted it but who knows how many people were there…

I hope it’s true.

John Miller said on the JC thread that he would know for sure what’s going on with Todd in a couple days. IMO The Barton thing seems pretty legit to me.

I watched the IG Live. The previous post is accurate.

What’s the link?

IG Live chats are not available via link. Once they end they usually disappear. Josh Christopher sometimes saves his chats and posts highlights of it on his IG story. This may be confusing if you are not familiar with instagram.

Here’s a transcript of Todd’s IG Live from a few minutes ago. I screen-recorded it but I have no idea how to upload a video.

a user comments that Todd is wearing red again

“Man what’s wrong with me wearing red bruh… bro they be on everything I do bruh… bro I swear if I sneeze they be like “he’s de-committing,” I’m like dang… wearing red socks: “he’s de-committing”… they even made a whole article… about something stupid… made a couple of articles, they be fighting on Twitter 'bout some dumb stuff… it’s annoying for real… y’all need to cut it out”

Did my best

This is why following kids in freaking high school on social media, unless you are related to them, actually cover recruiting, the team, or have the job of recruiting athletes is HIGHLY cringe worthy. People take this stuff way too seriously and make comments that make them seem to need a restraining order.

It was bad before when people had distractions. I can’t imagine how bad it is for recruits right now with all the lunatics out there sitting at home with nothing else to do but hang on every post from a recruit.

In fairness, a good chunk of them are probably in high school themselves. At least the ones commenting on his IG lives

I’m pretty sure that most people who actively use Instagram (especially in the world of sports) are in the 12-22 demographic based on comments on the UM Hoops Instagram, recruits instagrams and everything else.

Yeah, I would’ve figured if one is (in this case Will Barton) bothering to do interviews for content on IG that you’d want to save it to your Stories.

I didn’t see the Barton Todd IG Live, but 99% of these things aren’t actually interviews.

Most of the times they’re just athletes getting bored and hopping on IG Live, and one of their athlete friends will notice and join in. It ends up being essentially a FaceTime call with thousands of viewers most of the time.

This stuff has been particularly popular with NBA athletes, and so I’m assuming Todd and Barton somehow know each other, and were just having a normal conversation, not an interview.

Ah. I didn’t know that about IG Live. So, can you do a search on IG to follow when they’re on live or is it just random luck?

When you follow someone on IG, you’ll receive notifications whenever they go live, and when you’re on the app, you won’t miss it because there is a pretty big icon that lets you know anytime someone you’re following is on live. Contrarily, if you don’t follow them, you won’t know when they’re going live. So because I follow Todd, I was able to receive a notification and watch his live. You should know that most of these live videos are pretty pointless, especially since everyone is quarantined, as you’re just watching someone answer questions from followers or perhaps talk to someone else famous in a FaceTime/Skype setting. For example, Christopher goes on live fairly often and it’s usually just him talking to another high school hooper about his shoe collection and whatnot.

I have an Instagram account that I use strictly for following athletes. You can tell they’re getting bored now because more often than not, someone will be on Instagram live wasting their time away LOL.

I’m really not sharp today. I should’ve figured that out because I do get alerts regarding people I follow. Not too many people I follow use the live feature so I maybe get 4 or 5 a week. Still, I should’ve figured it out.
