2020 - F - Isaiah Todd (Commit)

Spending a year overseas might make more sense for Todd than spending a year Michigan does. Going overseas allows him to make some money right away, focus 100% of his time on basketball, find a roster fit that will guarantee him minutes, and will probably have a negligible, in any, effect on his draft stock (guys like Afernee Simons, Darius Bazley, and RJ Hampton were all ranked lower than Todd coming out of high school, skipped college, and still were or are about to be 1st round picks). At Michigan heā€™d have to go to class, wait a year to earn any money, and compete for minutes in a loaded front court (assuming Livers returns), and risk being picked apart by scouts in the states.

That all may be true but would you really want to be half the world away from your family right now in these crazy uncertain times?

Speaking of DDJ, and not to make things worse here, someone on 247 said he deleted all his UM related stuff as well.

Losing DDJ would hurt more than losing Todd.

How much $$$ are you signing me forā€¦? Also most of the time the kid going overseas doesnā€™t do so alone. Iā€™d be surprised if Toddā€™s Mom doesnā€™t accompany him wherever heā€™s going.

Rumors were apparently true.

He seemed pretty set on coming to Michigan. Kind of seemed annoyed that everyone was speculating he was going overseas. If his heartbreak emoji on twitter is connected to this whole thing that doesnā€™t make me think it was his decision.

His uncle just said heā€™s leaving on another thread here

Totally disagree, ddj has shown very little that shows he can be a good starter in the b1g.

What thread?

If DDJ stays, he stays for 2 more years. His impact would be around the same as Todd per year, and Todd is only staying 1 year. Thatā€™s why I said that.

I donā€™t think he had Walton potential, but thought he could have been solid.

The value in him is that he is a four year player like vanarbor mentions.

In the end, this roster will be Howardā€™s own very fast.

Yeah 4 year player would have been nice but a kids with his skillset are a dime a dozen(the grad transfer portal is full of them every year). Kids with Todds skillset, even as erratic as he can be, are very rare.

I actually think I agree that DDJ could be a bigger loss. Itā€™s close though. We have the depth to withstand a Todd loss much easier (provided Livers stays). And a Jr and Sr DDJ could certainly out produce a freshman Todd

Depth in 2021 starts to become an issue. Hopefully some of our other guys like Bajema stick it out.

No doubt 2021 is going be huge reset, need to have a big year recruiting at the guard position in 2021.

roster collapsing before our eyes, aiken becomes a huge potential add now

Re-hire Beilein? He is available.

Definitely. Bajema a day ago may have helped the program if he left, but now it would suck to see him leave.

Definitely like what I saw from him in his very limited minutes. Seems like he could be a very good player when he adds more meat to his bones. Probably a 4 year guy too.

This was pretty obvious already. Why do you think they were going after Aiken so hard and other PGā€™s?
