2020-21 Roster Speculation

Charles Matthews and Duncan Robinson worked out rather well. I can’t think of any others of the top of my head: pro or con

Haven’t seen it mentioned…any possibility DDJ comes back now that Christopher is headed elsewhere?

Can’t seem to find any talk on Jamal Bieniemy in regards to interested teams, but I would think that he’d be a solid option to look at especially if the transfer waiver passes.

Didn’t he weirdly get dismissed in Summer 2010?

We have the best recruiting class in the country outside of Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina. Sure, Christopher would have been nice, but not sure there’s any appropriate reaction other than missing the cherry on top of the sundae (even if we were told it was certainly coming).

At the end of the day Juwan is bringing in a ridiculous class + a grad transfer PG to accompany an all things considered solid returning core of guys we would feel comfortable starting in Wagner-Brooks-Johns, plus Livers and Bajema as outliers.

The doom and gloom is already getting old we have to move on from this kid. Sure, we have question marks at shooting guard and in terms of rim protection. IMO, perfect things for the coaching staff to spend all summer thinking about and playing with different options (Bajema/Zeb, Franz to the 2, etc.). This is not the first team to be “missing” a piece in their starting lineup that will have to be made up for with player development, thoughtful schemes, and guys flat out stepping up. It certainly won’t be the last.

Yes, dismissed for “violating team rules” after the 2010 trainwreck season. Ended his career at Oakland.

There are two things I know: DeJulius isn’t coming back to Michigan. Ant Wright doesn’t have any legit inside sources that you should deem trustworthy.

Amen. Next season will be a blast. That’s my 100% crystal ball lock.

This kind of “drama” is a major part of why I hate the NBA.

Juwan learned how brutal CBB recruiting is in the hardest possible way imaginable, and may have not even taken the biggest hit yet (Todd still could head out). Lots to be learned from this but Juwan is a motivated and smart dude and he’ll learn from this and hit the trail with a vengeance! In Juwan I trust.

We have our 30+ minutes per game senior and defensive leader returning at shooting guard. We are plugging in a high usage transfer senior point guard with a 4* freshman coming in to back him up. I don’t think the sky is falling.

High usage transfer from a top 50 worst team in the country.

The sky isn’t falling, but most all of our banner hopes were tied up in Christpher imo. If several players hit the best case scenario we can get back there but that obviously is a much longer shot.

Yeah I know the sky isn’t falling, and they should still be a tournament team, but with JC this team had potential to hang banners. It just changes the season outlook, that’s all. The team will be more like this past season than 2013 or 2014 (if that because it remains to be seen what this team looks like without X and with no proven facilitators to take his place). I’ll have fun hopefully watching Zeb and Cole get minutes though and dream of the roster for future years as the 2020 class gets older.

With Todd gone, I swear someone might need to come sedate me… the chip on the shoulders of guys like Bajema and Johns right now. You wanna recruit a 5-star over me how bout I produce after pouring sweat equity into this program and falling in love with the University of Michigan. THOSE WHO STAY. I officially love this team so much

Correction: Sky is falling.

Without Todd, how likely are we to still see a significant amount of small ball? I’d still think there’s 10-15mpg with Johns and Livers on the court. Definitely opens up room for Terrance Williams to have a role.

Still see brooks/ Wagner/ Livers as 30-35 mpg guys. Johns is probably closer to 30mpg than anyone else. Some combination of Dickinson and Davis adds up to 25-30mpg. Smith and Zeb similarly are 30mpg. Then the remaining 20mpg is Nunez/ Bajema/ Williams depending on who plays well enough to earn it?

Juwan Howard’s first class, not including his son, looks familiar but more talented than Coach Beilein’s first class. 3 multi year program guys.

I know that’s true without JC. Is that still true without Todd?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with the guys we’re getting, just genuinely curious where our class ranks with the guys coming in.
