FWIW, Ant Wright said he is “hearing some things” about Isaiah Todd from the same source who told him Josh Christopher was going to ASU.
Whatever that means…
Ant doesn’t know. I wish he would just stop pretending to be an insider. These are guesses. If he is right, he can pat himself on the back and tell everyone “I told you so.” If he’s wrong just blame it on some unnamed source without any consequences of spreading info that isn’t credible like the actual recruiting industries would have to deal with when trying to run a business. He has nothing to lose and it just helps him build up his own “brand” and get him the clout he craves.

He was already iffy way before this. I think if he doesn’t sign Wednesday after foregoing signing in November, it is probably over. I know signing doesn’t guarantee it, but he has had plenty of time to ponder this.

Why do you believe this? Not saying you’re wrong, but I’m starting to be convinced by him. He’s gotten a lot of things right, even going against the grain at times.

I’m going to expect Todd to not sign so that way if he does, it’s a pleasant surprise lol. I’ll go with my expectation that Livers comes back though. I just think the pandemic has royally screwed his draft chances.

I’d be really surprised if he’s not back. He’s #100 on ESPN’s draft board. That’s way out of the 2nd round and not really worth rolling the dice. I could see a team saying they’ll take him late in the 2nd round, but he wants a guaranteed contract.

If I can recall, he seemed fairly in the loop for the Todd commitment, and the Burnett commitment. This is the one he’s truly gone against the grain with, I think much of the original doubt earlier in the day from UM websites began with Ant being skeptical
Here’s his latest tweet that has screenshots of his text convos with this source. It goes all the way back to September. Seems pretty right and valid to me. Ant also says that this guy has been right on the 9 or so things he has asked him about.
Just about everyone on the planet had determined Todd was going to Michigan and Burnett was going to Texas Tech.

His source says nothing in those messages to validate that his opinion was based on any Intel. We also don’t have any clue who the source is and what makes him credible.
You can deny it, but it’s pretty damning that while everyone in the world had him going to Michigan, this guy had him at ASU since September and never changed his mind.
This guy must also have had sources close because he does reference that he hears his family wanted him on the West Coast.

I mean, Ant could be texting with my mom for all we know. (this isn’t a specific criticism of Ant, but of the insider phenomenon in general)

It’s all vague commentary. Go ahead and follow Ant as a trusted recruiting insider, but I think that’s a fool’s game. I enjoy Ant for the jokes and general commentary. I brush off his recruiting takes and Brandon Wade takes.
Well in that case, you can’t really validate any sources for the Todd/Burnett recruitments.
I’m specifically citing this one though. I think his source may have been lucky and missed a few months of activity where Christopher was seriously considering UM, but the dude stuck with ASU from the start. I mean even Ant was doubting his source and it turned out to be true.
I can believe Ant in this case and not trust him as a recruiting insider for everything. I too believe he is ridiculous with his Brandon Wade takes. But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t right here…
