I think depth/scarcity at their preferable positions makes that hard.
(IE, I’m not sure how much of an appetite there is to play Johns at center)

That is the big issue for me. Could get scary if that no sit out transfer rule passes.
Positions 1-3 seem accurate.
I doubt the freshmen bigs get that many minutes though; a lot more minutes will go to Davis and Johns. I see Johns and Todd getting about equal minutes (around 15-20), and then Dickinson and Davis getting about equal minutes as well (10-15).
fair take
from my perspective, dickinson and davis give up too much defensively from a lateral quickness perspective and hunter is still a freshmen
johns to me has a better junior (ala DJ wilson) year and what he gives up in size to some centers, he creates by spacing the floor and driving bigs with his athletecism vs the other two
i think the weighted pros and cons, plus experience point to Johns playing more than hunter and davis (tho against garza types, id change this up)
You could be right. I think I’m a lot higher on the instant impact of the incoming freshmen than most on the board. Excited to see it play out
Also fair take. I’d love it if Juwan went all-in on the combo forwards at the five at the expense of the traditional centers. I’d rather those minutes come from Davis entirely than Dickinson, but either way I’m pro-small ball. I have my reservations that Juwan will play those lineups more than a few shifts a game though
I just struggle to see both Todd and Johns on the team next year. Especially if Livers returns (big if). If the immediate transfer eligibility starts this year then it’d be logical for Johns to go elsewhere to get 25+ minutes a game because I think he’s that level of player for a good high major team. Selfishly I hope the immediate eligibility doesn’t start until next year. If it does I’m guessing Johns is gone. And the people In Todd’s camp who want him to leave can sell to him right now that there isn’t going to be as many minutes as he wants and should get with Johns, Livers and everyone else back.
I think it’s almost certainly not going into effect until next year
If the choice for next year’s roster is Isaiah Todd or Brandon Johns, give me Johns all day.
Recent articles are suggesting a May vote on that and it would start effective immediately (2020-2021).
I do remember an additional football coach vote got pushed back a year after previously expecting to start that year (media was whining about Harbaugh hiring/potentially hiring the father of a recruit at that time).
I want both. But if forced to choose, give me two years of Johns over Todd.
If the roster is as expected (all current commits including Todd plus Christopher and Livers comes back) I don’t see how this team isn’t playing at least 20 minutes a game of small ball (meaning Johns, Todd, or Livers at the 5). Davis is going to have a really hard time playing more than 10 minutes a game and it’s just hard for a freshman big to play a ton of minutes. I bet Johns sees ~20 minutes a game at the 5 and very little time on the wing. Just my two cents.
oppose to playing in countries that have various level of restrictions on international travel
This was posted 3 days ago and it’s highly unlikely Michigan lands him. Guessing Memphis or Western Kentucky is where he ends up.
Is he option 2 if Christopher goes elsewhere? Otherwise I dont see room?
I was thinking he could be a replacement for Livers or Todd. Not a direct one but he’s got versatility to play the 1-3 spots offensively. He adds more perimeter versatility. I think it’s highly unlikely he ends up at Michigan but I seen his name and remembered he’s one of the best available players
My entry in the minutes betting pool…
Brooks (30), Zeb or Smith (10)
Christopher (30), Bajema (10)
Franz (30), Livers (10)
Livers (20), Todd (20)
Johns (30), Dickinson (10)
ZERO minutes for Davis? Johns 30 minutes at the 5?
Yeah this is a good start but not positionless enough. If Johns logs 30 MPG it won’t be at one position.
