2020-21 Roster Speculation

What would he test highly in at the combine and workouts? I think people overrate his athleticism. I don’t think he has an elite vertical and he certainly isnt laterally impressive. At best, he will be average to above average athletically. Definitely nothing to open your eyes about.

I suppose I was more referring to shooting drills, 5-on-5, and especially interviews. That’s where I could see a handful of teams saying “I’ll take him in the 2nd round”. This is also predicated on the big IF regarding him playing well in March and moving up some boards before the combine.

I believe he has missed time all 3 years for ankle sprains. That is the kind of thing that should absolutely come up as NBA teams do due diligence.

livers testing the waters and leaving even if he is a second round pick doesn’t surprise me and in fact would seem more likely to me than not

im scared of franz leaving as i believe he could have a stauskus-eque sophmore year, but he is still young compared to livers so maybe feels less pressure to go get paid

Don’t think he did last year. Wasn’t his injury a back injury last year?

Appears you are right, good catch: https://www.freep.com/story/sports/college/university-michigan/wolverines/2019/01/04/michigan-not-expecting-isaiah-livers-injury-long-term/2483715002/

Either way I would be shocked if “injury prone” isn’t at least discussed after missing time all 3 years.

One is for sure and that is there will be a lot of moving parts this off season.

A post was merged into an existing topic: 2020 Transfer Market

If the NCAA tournament does get cancelled I’d have to think our chances of losing either Livers or Franz to the NBA will probably go down significantly.

I think you are correct. Not only Livers and Wagner are coming back, but expect quick news on attrition to finalize roster. News on Christopher might be coming sooner than expected.

Talking sports is a little bit of a coping mechanism for me right now. With that in mind, I had that same thought as you. They’re not in mock drafts and now lost their chance to make a name for themselves on the biggest stage. I could see them both putting their names in to get feedback but the feedback will lead them back to Ann Arbor.

This probably will have an effect on Livers’ decision.

It would be nice if they at least knew whether high schoolers will be eligible for the 2022 draft.

Just making sure I understand what is possibly on the table? Sr’s like Teske and Simpson may be granted another year?

Seniors this past season are likely done. So
Guys like X and a Teske. Seniors who played spring sports like baseball/softball players will get another year of eligibility.

Hadn’t realized that Davis has actually accepted enrollment in grad school at Michigan. I was thinking that there was a chance he went elsewhere still but sounds firm to me that he is back next year
