Makes sense, thanks for the info. Should have actually read the dates.
Word is that UM has cancelled the Quinones visit and will not host him next week. Wonder if they got good news from Franz or Pierce, or if they just read the writing on the wall that he wasnāt coming here and are going to put those eyeballs elsewhere that weekend.
Will be interesting to follow that development
Quinones not keen on us?
My reading of the tea leaves is that LQ has shown himself to be ānot a fitā for one reason or another as opposed to better news of a guy higher on our board taking the spot. Hope Iām wrong or it otherwise works out for us.
Que? No. NĆ¼sse.
(I expect to get notification Iāve unlocked the trilingual-post badge here)
I have to imagine there is something positive elsewhere.
Michigan needs players and had 4 main targets, and voluntarily reduced it to 3.
I imagine Iggy is still kinda in play, but again I donāt know how long the program can wait on an answer.
Maybe Iām naive, but if Brazdeikis chose to return, Michigan could not stop him, no? Didnāt scholarships get guaranteed in the B10?
Someone would likely end up transferring in that case.
Sure, Iām just saying that room would need to be made elsewhere. They couldnāt flat out refuse him.
I posted last week that there will most likely be good news when JB returns from Germany and the easiest way to follow it is to see what he does with the other recruits. Fairly straight forward to meā¦This to me is a clear indication of some really good news. To me, this is about Franz
Hope so. From everything Iāve seen and read. Of all the guys currently realistically in play, I think heās the one Iād be most excited about if we landed. Not that the otherās couldnāt contribute. Just feels like heās the one with the highest upside, and the most likely to be a real difference maker.
From what Iāve gathered unfortunately is that it just seems Quinones wasnāt seriously considering Michigan moreso than we have some irons in the fire that will commit. So basically cross one off and now from our original main targets, only 3 remain in Pierce, Wagner and Hyland. Those 2 new grad transfer guards that have reportedly popped onto Michiganās radar may become more prominent names for us to follow going forward because the initial options are running thin.
Seems a bit optimistic to me. Not that I donāt think Michigan has a good shot at Pierce or Wagner eventually, but because I donāt think they ever had a real shot at Quinones. I think I said a few times in the past week, something along the lines of āif Quinones actually takes his officialā. This doesnāt really surprise me.
Iām an optimistā¦even more so on Franz. I didnāt become optimistic today. I was waiting to see if JB cancelled a visit or 2 after his Germany visit. If he didnāt, it would have made me 2nd guess my optimism. Then again, Iām a guy who thinks Mich can get to the final 4 next year.
Why cancel a visit because you donāt believe youāre currently in the lead for a recruit? Sounds batty.
Why did Maryland pull out of his recruitment?
You only get so many official visits and you want to use them on recruits who you think you have a serious shot at.
If you arenāt getting Quinones, the whole staff is probably better served using their time and that OV on someone else.
Itās like heading to the next town instead of returning to the court for the 2nd half of a game youāre losing.
Itās definitely more complicated than that because sometimes the way you win the game is by signing a player that you have a better chance at landing.
TBH, I never thought we had a legit shot with Les given the other horses in the race. It feels like Memphis or LSU at this point. And we all know what LSU may be offeringā¦
