Another reason we need to keep these assistants, ESPECIALLY if they can deliver a Franz Wagner!
Yeah I think Beilein and his development was the big selling point. But he is a legit talent that can be developed.
This is/was a big need and talent this late in the game.
Hopefully we can still get him.
My guess is he got here as the news broke, and is just thinking what the hell might as well go through with the official visit while I’m already all the way out here, without much true interest anymore now that Beilein is gone. Hope I’m wrong.
This off-season is one big ball punch.
Man if Franz committed to Michigan post-Beilein he’d be such a hero
Oh no doubt, he would be my hero.
I thought john navarre is your hero
I didn’t realize I went against my own name.
Do we have you on record that you will change your name to FRANZWAGNERISMYHERO if he comes?
Or would that be considered an impermissible benefit?
Yes I will agree to that. No benefit issues.
Another selling point could be that his brother had a great time when he was here. Maybe that’s enough to reel him in.
Quinn’s latest article on The Athletic does say Beilein called Franz before they were scheduled to fly here and tell him he was taking the Cleveland job. Franz and his parents still opted to come on the official visit to Ann Arbor on Monday and Tuesday.
Free visit and Moe was already in going to be in town so why not? The chances of Franz coming here are basically zero. I’ve heard the official was awkward and super short
That is not true. He got the news on the plane while the doors where closing. JB called nobody. As far I know It was a special visit due to the circumstances.
Where is that info about the visit coming from?
That is always a good question … As awkward the situation for ALL of them was it went well. Great coaching stuff, great kid, great family. GO BLUE. Anyway.
He is visiting, he was going to come play for Michigan. I said as much a few weeks ago (not about the visit). I don’t think I was wrong. No idea where it stands now but I assume it is quite a mess.
Total mess. The timing of this coaching change is terrible for so many reasons. It is hard to envision any likely scenario that doesn’t result in the program suffering in both the short and long term.
About as positive as you could hope for from an official visit without a coach.
I guess, doesn’t seem to really say much it sounds like a family get away more than an official visit. I’d like to here what Franz’s had to say about it
