2019 Transfer Market

well damn lol

Absolute no brainer to try to go after them but I can’t imagine Beilein being too keen on having two guys sitting out and getting only one of those guys for a year.

Not sure Michigan’s roster can really handle two sit out kids unless there is additional attrition (which is always a possibility). Think it is important to get some new faces on the roster who can play next year.

Unfortunately that sounds like the perfect situation for MSU. I think Ward leaves and I wouldn’t be surprised to see one other bolt. If that happens, they’d be a perfect landing spot as their whole lineup is basically set for next year.

Other than they have to sit out a year

Hauser thing is very strange considering that a grad transfer is off the table (sit one, play one) and the younger brother has already used a redshirt so wouldn’t even be guaranteed a fifth year.

The only “flight risks” on MSU’s roster appear to be Cassius and Ward. So, if they get the Hauser brothers I’ll deal with it since it means Cassius left.

I believe he got on campus in January and was rehabbing an injury the whole time. They could apply for a medical redshirt if necessary.

OK – that makes some sense. The sit one, play one is still odd to me.

Damn I really liked them when I watched Marquette play.

I can’t see how this isn’t Markus Howard related … dude is a black hole on offense.

Any chance Beilein tries to get involved with Justin Pierce’s 6-5 teammate Matt Milon, who hit over 40 percent of his 3-pointers this past season for William and Mary ? Milon is also a grad transfer

Yeah, would be tough next year, but I think it’s ultimately worth it, because the younger ones looks like the kind of guy who doesn’t leave early for the draft but has a great college career, and a 23 year old Sam Hauser for one year would be a really great starting forward too.

And realistically, if Poole is gone, we’re probably at best a sweet 16 team with Simpson-GradTransfer/2019SG/Bajema-Livers-Wilson/Johns-Teske starting. Just not enough shot creation.

We have quality with Teske, Simpson, Livers and potential quality with Castleton, Johns, Wilson and Bajema. Plus Brooks should be improved along with the two Grad transfers we will sign this spring-- I am not going cap my expectation’s on next year’s club before Beilein’s had a chance to shape and mold these players.

I don’t understand this line of thinking. If you are a Sweet 16 type team, all it takes is a few breaks and all of the sudden you are a Final Four team. The last three years have proven that pretty clearly in my opinion.

Are all of the SG eggs in LQ’s basket now? Or are there any realistic grad transfer options at the position?

If they can’t land LQ, I think it’s dangerous to go into the season with only Brooks/Nunez/Bajema as the SGs (unless Nunez and Bajema are more ready than I think they will be next year). I guess they can put together some funky lineups to work around it though.

People are still transferring every day so it is hard to know what options will be out there. Franz Wagner is obviously still an option. These situations are always changing.

Do you consider Franz a SG? Film is misleading and I usually don’t judge just off film but he’s in Germany obviously. He seems more like a wing than a SG for Michigan. The SGs at Michigan have the ball in their hands quite a bit historically.

I would definitely consider him a wing but I wouldn’t rule him out because of that – even if Michigan were to add someone like Pierce.

I think you would rather just get the most talent on the roster and figure out where they play. If you have to play three wings, so be it.

Can’t disagree with that.
