2019 Transfer Market

Any chance of us going after Kerry Blackshear?

Grimes was really really bad for KU this year. But he’s young and was a very impressive prep player. Would guess he’s technically a sit one play one. Maybe you get another year out of him if he is just ok.

Seems like talk is that he wants to go somewhere where he is promised to play PG.

I would say it’s crazy to think he’d want to come here with Teske around, but maybe Juwan could sell him on playing the 4 (literally the same size as he was) and becoming a great, not just good, perimeter and high post player here to improve his NBA stock.

Teske-Blackshear-Livers-Simpson would be a great defensive group even if the other starter is a freshman or tiny Dejulius, and Blackshear shot the ball better over the course of the season from 3 and the FT line. We’d be slower, but could play a more grinding system.

Interesting that the new rules and increased # of draft declarations with subsequent return to school has led to a second wave of transfers.

Gotta believe Michigan takes a look at some of these guys. The 2020 recruiting doesn’t need to be huge if you grab someone that sits one year and is available to play with those 2020 freshman.

That said, there’s a certain ring to having 5 scholarships available in Juwan’s first real class…

(that’s tongue in cheek…obviously you take a guy that you think can contribute)

:face_with_monocle: I like that.

There doesn’t appear to be any update on Jaevin Cumberland to Cincy since Jarron announced his return earlier in the week. Is it possible Jaevin’s interest in us reignited with the coaching change?
The fact that Cincy is recruiting Alabama grad transfer wing Tevin Mack (when they already are very strong on the wing) could indicate that Jaevin wasn’t the sure-thing many thought he would be.

Jaevin to Cincy could also be a done deal already and he’s just taking his time with visiting/committing.

I don’t know what to expect for Howard’s recruiting but if he goes after Fisher, then I’ll think things are getting fishy…if you know what I mean. My sources (I have a few) say he signed with TCU for a reason…

I mean he may not necessarily be dirty if Michigan landed him now. Tugs was dirty for every program going after him except MSU. Doesn’t mean MSU is dirty by default. His dad even said it in the trials. Fwiw I’ll take Fisher in a heartbeat. Kid can flat out hoop. And he’s got a cool story.

Aside from Fisher returning to college and looking to transfer, is there some reason to think we are involved? Does he have to sit a year? If so, I see no reason why we would want him with Zeb in the fold for 2020 and DDJ waiting his turn too.

word is fisher has grade issues

Me personally I prefer Zeb at the 2. And I’m unconvinced about DD but I remain optimistic. Fisher is proven. Just a safe bet he’d be good is why I want him.

No idea if this would impact Jaevin Cumberland

They’re also recruiting the Alabama transfer at SG

Does keeping Saddi make Jaevin and Franz a better or worse than 50% possibility?

Probably impossible to put a percentage value on it, but I would guess that without Saddi there would be a very small chance at either of them. With him, I think we have a decent chance.
