An undisputed fact: we have not secured even one commitment since Quinn’s provocative exposé. You can take up debate with this if you have a problem with science.

Apropos of nothing, I found this interesting:

From the B1G (OSU) to the SEC (Bama) to the America East.

Mr. Poole is sabotaging all our recruits.

It’s the elephant in the room. Not everyone is brave enough to broach the subject. You have to wonder if Quinn would have written that if the dynamic involved MSU, or if he would have kept it private for the better of their program. If you follow Game of Thrones you understand how powerful people like Little Finger & Varys are while playing their roles behind the seats of power. There’s so much more depth to college basketball dominance than what we see on the court.

Would you mind linking Quinn’s piece?

https://theathletic.com/941530/2019/04/23/the-story-behind-jordan-pooles-all-in-decision-on-the-nba-draft/ (I think this is the piece in reference)

Has Michigan State landed a recruit since the piece? Wasn’t it from like a month ago? How many commit-ready recruits has Michigan even attempted to land since the piece, just Justin Pierce?

I think some of the concerns from the piece are real. But to insinuate that Brendan would cover MSU differently seems a little odd since he has zero Spartan background and is by all accounts one of the best journalists around (in my opinion).

I’m pretty sure hes being sarcastic… if not hes insane

Say what?!? How would that piece even remotely affect Michigan’s recruiting of anyone other than Jordan Poole? There was nothing at all negative about Michigan in there other than one player and his dad have an over-inflated view of the player’s abilities and/or a biased view of how Jordan should have been used in the offense.

I can’t imagine any other player viewing that as a reason not to go to Michigan.

So I guess the hot take of the day is that B Quinn is actually an undercover MSU agent who has been plotting the takedown of Michigan since he arrived in 2013 or whenever.

The real question? Was his podcasting partner in on it???:eyes:

From my sources - yes. It’s been a long con. Dylan has ingratiated himself to the Michigan fan base with his fancy words, beautiful graphs, and insightful statistical analysis…all at the behest of Izzo.

Meanwhile, Mr. Poole, who is allegedly a die hard MSU fan, had his son infiltrate the the actual team to bring it down from the inside.

Really ingenious…

No it’s not.

Well, two things.

First, the only real candidates for a commitment have been Pierce (who committed to UNC) and Morton (Purdue). Sounds like Morton wants to play the point, and of course Zeb Jackson blocks his path here.

Second, the article was all about how Poole’s opportunities were limited because Z isn’t a threat to knock down open threes. Z is a senior this coming year. No future recruit will even be on the court with him.

You guys clearly don’t watch Game of Thrones, then you’d understand

Lol exactly

Praying this is some odd specimen of snark that my college English classes failed to prep me for.

Interesting that the article doesn’t consider Iggy as gone? Makes it sound like Iggy returning next season is still a legitimate option — or at least the first time I’ve seen it written as anything less than he’s gone.

Iggy wants to go but he isn’t stupid. He wants a clear view to a guaranteed contract or a first round selection. If he doesn’t get one, his return could happen. Not highly likely but that is how I believe it will play out

As much as I’d like him to come back, I think he will go to the combine and play himself into the late first round or early in the second with the team that picks him assuring him they will guarantee his contract. And THAT, my friends is about as negative as I’ll ever be in a comment! :grinning: But it really isn’t because what it says is that I think so much of Iggy that I believe he’ll will himself into a first round draft position or a guarantee of his contract by a team who takes him early in the second. And, if that happens, he really should go.
