2019 Transfer Market

Always faith in Coach B… in Zavier and Beilein we trust.

Yes. I actually always liked his game.

I watched a lot of Vanderbilt basketball this season. I though Ryan would be a real good fit for Beilein’s system in general and Michigan’s 3pt shooting needs next season specifically. Coach Drew’s system didn’t seem like a good fit for Ryan — he’s best as a catch-&-shoot 3pt guy and a lot of Vandy’s offense was 1-on-1 pro game oriented (which is fine when you have a healthy Darius Garland but fell flat w/o Garland). My guess is Ryan wanted more of a leading role, which Chattanooga could probably offer. But if he’s going to play pro Hoops it will be as a corner catch-and-shoot scorer, which a place like Michigan could really use next season.

Why is Hyland not an option?

grades/catching up on school from time missed… may need to do prep for a year

He may be an option but there may be, seems to be, an issue with his transcript/graduation as a result of the tragedy which occurred in his life with the fire and the injury, and how it affected his schooling. He may be taking a prep year. I hope I’m stating that fairly.

Rayjon Tucker on a visit at Kansas right now. Not relevant to Michigan anymore, but just interesting to keep watching. Was just at Iowa State.

How purple would McCaffery turn if we scooped up Moss? Hahaha

Admon Gilder to Gonzaga, per Jeff Borzello.

Also, unsure how ‘ITK’ he is, but given the thought that Illinois may be one to watch here, this makes sense.

Yep, that’s what I thought would happen. So now the best two grad transfers left are Cumberland and Moss. I hope we’re doing some work behind the scenes.

Quinn seems to have an Iowa sports connection. He’s a 20 year old Sports Journalist who is finishing his sophomore year at the University of Iowa. Don’t know if he knows Moss personally or just has connections that have informed him that Moss has gotten interest from Loyola. Chicago would get him closer to home than Champaign-Urbana.

So uhhhhh can we please get to work on filling one of these 2 open scholarships :joy:

Seriously though I’m really looking forward to the possibility of landing Franz. Wonder how hard we go after any of the other grad transfers?

I imagine the plan is to have him commit on or right after the visit. Can’t see this being lengthy, gotta be us or Oregon (Michigan has to have a huge advantage with the area familiarity, prior connections to family (have heard family is a fan of the school), and the Saddi connection.

Cumberland would be a big get with his shooting prowess.

Anyone else agree this could be really massive? Solves our 2-guard dilemma and is a career 40% shooter from 3 on lots of attempts

Very good pickup for Mark Few. Fits Few’s trend of taking more 3s and less mid-range shot attempts. Plus, Gilder can knock them down.

The Zags were taking 31.4% of shots in mid-range in 2017 and went down to 21.2%. Gilder only took 23.5% of shots from mid-range in his last season at A&M.

I’m with ya. Cumberland could be a great fit at the 2 and maybe a better fit overall than Pierce. Hope it works out.

Cumberland would be a great get. One thing I really like is how he and Eli bring such different skills to the table. I think they compliment each other very well and would give us a couple very different looks at the 2 spot. Eli as more of a floor general defensive stopper and Cumberland as a shooter and bucket getter. With Cumberland in the fold I could imagine Brooks getting some backup point guard minutes when Cumberland is on the floor. Would be a good situation to have a couple players like that.
