Michigan fans should prefer Buffalo. 31% of their offense is in transition, per Hoop-math – 4th most in the country and they are super efficient in that regard, too.
Not saying it will be easy or anything – they are a really good downhill attacking team both in the half court and full court, I just think Michigan matches-up well on that end with Buffalo.
As we all know, Michigan is proficient at “shutting the water off” for high-powered transition offenses.
Yeah, looking at the hoop-math numbers they are a similar offense as us in the halfcourt (and these are non-adjusted numbers). So if Michigan just plays their normal transition D, not sure what Buffalo can really do.
Also, notably on that Tech - Buffalo matchup. Tech gives up a similar number of transition attempts as Michigan, but is noticeably worse at defending it. 50.4 EFG% defense in transition as opposed to Michigan’s 43.8. Hopefully Buffalo can take advantage. They look particularly vulnerable at the rim there.
Easy on the Minnesota hate. I live in the state and Jordan Murphy’s injury was a big part of their issues tonight. The kid had 3 real offers out of high school and Minnesota took a flyer on him. He had a sensational career. It sucked to have to see him go out like that.
Fridays and Sundays are always so enjoyable when your team has won the Thursday and Saturday games. Just relax and let the other fanbases sweat it out while you enjoy yourself.
The Buffalo Texas Tech game will be a battle. UB has five seniors that start and excellent guard play. I won’t be surprised if they come out on top. Last year as a 13 seed they knocked off Arizona a 4 seed. This year spanked Bobby HUrley at Arizona state, former UB coach!
Looking forward to this one…wondering what other games today could result in an upset. Looks pretty “chalk-y” to me. I was so excited about a great stress-free day, but I’m not seeing a lot of compelling games…Hope I’m wrong.
