2019 - G - Nah'Shon Hyland (VCU Commit)

I had the Hawkins scenario in my mind when I wrote that.

Yeah it would be cool to have him committed for 2020, get his grades squared away and build his body while continuing to develop his game.

I do remember seeing one of his recent interviews where he actually mentioned potentially being in the 2020 class if need be.

Hawkins did the prep year even though he could have gotten into other schools. I don’t think we’ll see that scenario too often. Hyland might be able to boost his stock quite a bit so he might not just be thinking about Michigan if he goes the prep route.

Yeah, unless he committed to us for 2020 and did the prep route, he is available to everyone and probably has many more options.

But I wonder if the supposed academic issue is a ā€œMichigan-onlyā€ issue where he can’t get admitted to UofM or a NCAA Clearinghouse issue where he is behind on credits there which could take 2019 off the table completely for him

I personally would guess it’s clearinghouse, but I certainly don’t know.

Its probably beset not to speculate on something that no one has any information on.

You have to add MAAR to this.

I thought about MAAR, but he played in 29 games as a freshman and started 13 of them.

I’m sure this one is dead now, but here’s some news anyways

This one wasn’t happening, but to put it to bed.

wish we were seeing him in a Michigan jersey next year…

I don’t do this for many that don’t play in maize and blue, but I’ll be cheering for this kid.

One less top 200 recruit not signed or not committed. Wondering if there were any other coaching changes that could lead to someone opening up their recruitment?

Tuned in to the Purdue - VCU game tonight; nothing amazing but Bones looking like a solid role player for VCU. Playing about 40% of minutes as a true freshman. Happy to see it, best of luck to him!

It didn’t work out between the two sides, but it’s impossible not to root for that kid given his story.

Putting together quite the freshman year for VCU. In the starting lineup and averaging 8+ pts/game. Had 18 against Dayton the other night. Pretty cool to see considering his story.

Yea i saw that too. I love going back and seeing a lot of the guys we were in deep with and how they are doing/ tracking their careers.

Wow. He’s going to have an awesome career from the looks of it. Already an elite shooter it seems.

Probably the right decision to go to VCU, since we have DDJ and Zeb down the line at PG.
