2019 - G - Harlond Beverly (Miami Commit)

Pretty clear scanning the 247 composite why the ACC is averaging twice as many first round picks and more Lottery picks compared to BIG: Better talent. Duke by itself is bringing in more top 20 talent than the entire BIG combined. I don’t think the playing field is level. A lot of Duke, Kentucky and Kansas represented on an annual basis.

Most of the B1G teams that went to the Final Four but lost were stacked with first round talent. This MSU team is probably the only one that didn’t have at least 1 first round pick in their rotation. Last year Michigan only had 1 first round talent but had several 2nd rounders which counts for something when they are experienced. And that is also on the low end. Just off the top of my head I can think of 2 first rounders on all the other teams.

So I really don’t get your argument. 3 programs pretty much have a monopoly on the elite talent in the country, with a few one and dones sprinkling down to us peasants. The Big Ten has done as well as anyone at developing the talent they get for the last 2 decades

Nice writeup on Beverly. 2 of the 3 Rivals analysts picked Beverly to be the top 4 star they’d want, and Evans has been the longest supporter of Beverly of the 3 Rivals guys even though he didn’t say Beverly. Michigan was mentioned, along with Indiana, Kansas, Georgia and Miami.

I dont know where we are with Beverly but the film I see sure looks good. Super athletic and seems to love to compete.

At what point should we start to worry if a visit hasn’t been scheduled? Seems like we had some momentum for a minute there…would be nice to capitalize.

How are you defining momentum in this case?

Ha. Yeah. When no visit has been set up, its hard to see any real momentum here.

internet rumor momentum lol

underclassmen officially staying in the draft momentum

There was a sense that he was going to at least visit from some insider types but I chose the word “seems” intentionally. I’m guessing that since the chatter didn’t amount to a scheduled visit, that the air is out of the balloon a little. Which would be unfortunate.

It’s not happening now. And this makes it more pressing to get Quinones. And I don’t believe Michigan will so I’m getting a bit worried about who Michigan will have at SG next year because Brooks isn’t the answer.

Damn. That sucks. All in on LQ.

OK, so I read your post from 18 hours ago with the tweet from Eric Bossi with a picture of Beverly dunking. I read in your comment to that post where you said “Michigan was mentioned along with Indiana, Kansas, Georgia and Miami.” I’ve read every comment since. I don’t see where your comment “It’s not happening now” is coming from. Do you mean a visit is not happening now? Or do you mean we are not getting the kid? You also talk about the urgency of getting Q, which you also don’t think will happen. So, it seems you think Beverly “is not happening now” and you don’t think we’ll get Q, and therefore you’re worried.

I guess my question is, where are you getting all of this information… Do you have an “in” with Beverly? Q? Their families, like mom and/or dad? Have you talked with Coach B? His staff? A little clarification would be very much appreciated. But then, maybe I can’t handle the truth!

damn, on to the next

OK, if this is the “truth” Dylan, and I have no reason to believe it isn’t, I don’t know if I can handle it! I really like the kid. Sorry if he’s going elsewhere. BUT, in JB I trust! As poppinfresh says, on “to the next!”

edit: dylan added above, too little too late

Miami is the favorite here, not Georgia (although he did take an official to UGA over the weekend).
