2016 Wing Recruiting (Ibi Watson)

I want Coffee over Bridges. Love Bridges, just don't see it happening.

Winston & Coffee

You want Coffee over Bridges? That’s just crazy talk.

Bridges makes us a Final 4 contender immediately. I don’t think you can say that about Coffee.

I’ll gladly take either though.

Yeah, after the Battle/Langford saga I think we’d all be pretty happy with any highly regarded wing. Unless us not getting Bridges means he goes to MSU of course.

Just had a great talk with Coach Beilein at Michigan about Maishe Dailey!

JB apparently inquired about 2016 Ohio sleeper Maishe Dailey. Film is pretty solid for a kid I hadn’t heard about.

How is Maishe Dailey not a top 100 kid? That film is lights out and is considerably better than Ibi Watson’s film. Why isn’t Dailey ranked higher?

Stress fracture during his junior year and broken wrist this spring didn’t help.

I like the athleticism and the bounce. Seems to play with some energy too. Stroke looks good. Seems like he dribbles too far away from his body. Better competition will take advantage of that, but obviously not something that can’t be fixed.

FYI. Rivals has a nice free recruiting summary up: https://michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1786473

So is it fair to say that the weeping and gnashing of teeth related to the Battle/Langford fiasco wasn't the end of UM BBall recruiting for all time?

If we still end up with 2 more top-100 kids (Wing and PG), even though Battle/Langford/Bridges(likely)/Winston(maybe) are not one of them, is recruiting a failure?

1 each from the following groups is not awful.
PG: Bibby, Lucas, Pritchard, Winston
WG: Bridges, Coffey, Dailey, Huerter, Watson, Bailey (if he doesn’t go on a mission trip)

No that’s not an awful finish to the class, but you cant sugar coat the fact that they way the Battle/Langford thing played out was pretty crappy.

No doubt that it was crappy, but there was a ton of… “we’ll never be any good” stuff going around. I guess I’m just a “sh*t happens, move on” kind of guy.

Kevin Huerter visiting Maryland this weekend. http://maryland.247sports.com/Bolt/Kevin-Huerter-Schedules-Maryland-Visit-38448379

Miles Bridges visiting today apparently.

Miles Bridges on campus in Ann Arbor per Webb! Baby steps. A Winston pickup could go a decently long way…

Awesome! GO BLUE!!! =D>

Glad to see this, and hope he leaves with an offer. Pull out all the stops, reel in our two targets from The Family, and worry about the numbers later. Would love to steal one from MSU for once – I’m always amazed at how Izzo can get the guys he does while clipping their wings to keep them out of the league. Calipari, on the other hand… a kid would need superhuman powers to resist that dude’s slick sales pitch.

2017 target Kevin Huerter tells me he has no plans to visit Syracuse. Currently setting up visits for 2016 offers.

Love this kid. Has already got game, and a super high ceiling going forward. So young for such poise and knowledge of how to play the game. Perfect fit for JB.

The star rising senior member of the Shenendehowa boys’ basketball team, Huerter said his top universities at the moment are Creighton, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Villanova; of those schools, Huerter has made unofficial visits to Iowa, Maryland, and Villanova.

“Right now, the schools I am visiting have shown mutual interest in me, and have been trying to get me on campus,” he said, later adding he had not completely ruled out Davidson or Syracuse.
