One issue with Cumberland is that if he commits, I believe he will be the only player on the roster that has tattoos. I wonder how he will fit in with the rest of the squad with that distinction.

I was thinking the same thing, just didnt want to seem like an ass.
Nick Ward the incoming 2016 MSU recruit just posted the following. im really hoping this isn’t Langford but who else would it be. If it is that’s about as rough a three days in recruiting you can have. Top 25 kid decommits, the other top 25 kid that we might have been leading for up until Battles commitment commits to your instate rival.
@best_at_hoopin: We got another Spartan
Im gonna be sick, who else could it be…
Well crap
And they are also in good shape with bridges and winston…i dont like this
Jerry Meyer @jerrymeyer247
.@tom_ericson Confirmed that Josh Langford has not committed to Michigan State on his visit. He might but he hasn’t.
How much do you want to bet that Beilein never stopped recruiting Langford? Odds are also probably pretty high that Langford never lost interest in Michigan. If that is true, and the interest is still there, then the fact that Battle is gone would most likely make him consider coming here again, no?
I just don’t buy this whole Balas “burned bridge” theory. It may be true in relationships with women, but its not true when it comes to recruiting…in other words, I doubt Langford would expect Michigan to turn battles commitment down in favor of waiting for Langford…you take who commits first in this game. Langford isn’t dumb and must realize that. I’m sure well get another shot at him.
Guys... Was out of town for the weekend, but going to have to kill this "credibility debate"... Let's get back to 2016 wings.Cumberland is visiting today. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t offered.
Do you think he bites? Seems more likely to me that he’ll play out July, but you never know.
I agree that he likely plays it out. I don’t know what Huerter will do when he comes in/gets offered in the next few weeks. Would they take both with Huerter as a '17 if he’ll do that, or even as a '16 if Winston goes elsewhere? Or are they too similar in terms of both being guys with much better skill sets than run/jump/lateral movement athleticism?
If offered, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did commit. That said, Battle I believe made it out of the weekend not having committed to Syracuse, no? That to me seems to be in the face of a lot of reports. Regardless, I get the feeling that this wing spot won’t stay open long in the class.
Do we take it as a positive that Battle’s twitter still says UM commit and there hasn’t been word from his 'Cuse visit yet?

Well nothing was said about Battle’s visit to Michigan until Monday afternoon. If you want to take it as a positive that’s your prerogative but I will wait until I actually hear something. That being said the Langford news isn’t good in the least. Izzo is really killing it on the recruiting trail, not sure what has happened with Beilein’s recruiting the last couple years.
No comment update from Gary Battle. http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2015/06/tyus_battles_father_declines_c.html
Contacted by MLive Monday morning, Battle’s father, Gary, declined to comment.
“Ty and I are not making any comments until we figure things out,” Gary Battle wrote in a text message.
Asked to clarify the status of his son’s reopened recruitment and whether Michigan is still involved, Gary Battle said, “If I knew than I could say but I truly don’t until I sit with fam and talk to Michigan.”
WOW. If Battle indeed leaves, even Hitchcock couldn’t have written this script. Langford to Sparty is really tough to take right now. Ugh.

Cumberland tweeted “Good visit ️” after his trip today… Short and sweet and keeping things close to the vest.
However, I would definitely point out that he added a follow from John Beilein on Twitter…
Hopefully this one ends in a commitment soon…
It’s really hard to stomach that Langford was “previously heavily leaning towards M” ( Webb ), Battle verbally commits, and we get neither. Ouch. Top 15 talents don’t show up everyday.
I’d be willing to bet tyus wants Michigan but his parents are trying to do what they can to keep him closer to home. This scenario stinks of daddy desires.
It might actually be more on the mom side… But who cares, same result.
I take it as a positive he didn’t commit to Syracuse yet though. Everyone was saying he would commit by the end of the weekend. Now the question is: will he take a visit to uconn?
I think Beilein is now going to give him more of an ultimatum and timeline now that Cumberland has visited
