Huge! Now this may help land a top PG too!
I am so confused and so happy
I’m not one to cower at the sight of Duke in all instances, but I was believing the Duke hype on this one because of Tyus’ relationships into that program. What a shocker. A beautiful, beautiful shocker.
Hot Dog!
Super excited about this! Great news! I posted a comment above about honesty and integrity (Coach B!) still resonating with talented, athletic kids. Well, maybe it still does! Welcome to the Michigan family, Tyus! Go Blue!!!
Nice! Now we’re full up for '16 barring attrition or a Davis prep year. I guess MAAR is a PG after all. '17 PGs Michigan has lots of playing time available.
Love me some Beilein!
so this leaves us with one open '16 scholarship, correct?
No I believe we are all out as things stand right now.
But as Dylan always states “the scholarship situation has a way of working itself out.”
so this leaves us with one open '16 scholarship, correct?
On paper? Not exactly. In reality? I suspect yes. The Big Ten allows you to oversign by one in November which gives U-M flexibility to keep recruiting.

I think it’s called the “Crean Rule”
I’m trying to understand the whole “ball handling guard” thing though. Does that mean he wants to play point, or be like a C-luv type guard? Are we still looking at a point guard?

Could be wrong, but I’m thinking more LeVert part 2. We ( and every other team for that matter) needs more than one person capable of bringing it up court. And I think we desperately need a point guard to round out the class (meaning of course an Austin Davis redshirt, or something to that effect)

Battle specifically references Caris, Nik, and Tim, so he and the coaches probably imagine something along those lines – not the PG, necessarily, but having the ball in his hands a lot. I would think the team is still looking for a PG or at least a combo guard.
BAM!!!..welcome to the greatest show on Earth!
Huerter 50/50 on reclassifying to 17/prep school. Scout gave Huerter a bump to 3 star, just outside the top 125.
Couldn't agree more, I don't view Battle as 5 star/top 20ish type player. No doubt Battle is a good player, but I think a ranking in the 30-50ish range is more appropriate.
Just for fun and some perspective while still riding high from Battle’s commitment was looking back through this thread at some of the ups and downs and views of Battle throughout his recruitment.
Now let me preface this my saying I’m not attempting to make “you we’re wrong” type question here Matt D. I really am asking for an opinion. How do you feel about Battle now? I don’t expect nor would I that your opinion would be now that Battle is a Wolverine he is a legit top 10 talent. Do you still view him as a 30-50 type player?
In a nutshell, yes. I don’t think Battle is on the same level as Langford irrelevant of the rankings. Langford is a better ball handler, better passer, better shooter, and better athlete. I think Tyus is somewhere in the 25-40 range right now. That being said, he’s an upper tier, multifaceted player, which we desperately needed, and JB got him.
I think Battle is just flat out better than Langford, though I like both of them a lot. It will be interesting to see who’s better over the next few years.
