I have to agree with you, the thought of Kenny Williams or Bruce Brown, both 2 guards, matching up with Johnson and/or Winslow, who are both 3/4, is quite hilarious…that analogy makes no sense. If you were using McQuaid then I could see your logic, but your analogy as used isn’t really applicable. The weird thing is you actually like McQuaid, who is more one dimensional than both Williams and Brown. Again, you like the length so I understand that part.
Just because Winslow/Johnon have great physiques doesn’t necessarily mean they play strong…case in point would be GR3. If you look at GR3, most would assume that he couldn’t possibly be backed down in the post or bullied around…until you watch an actual game and come to the realization that GR3 can’t hold his weight against anyone.
Bruce Brown has the ability to breakdown defenders off the dribble and he is an above average athlete that finishes well - jury is still out on his shot from my perspective. Williams is a really good shooter off the bounce or catch and shoot, above average athlete, and above average defender. Can’t create as much as Brown or Coleman, but a good catch if we can’t land Coleman or Ali.
Stanley Johnson and Justice Winslow are 2/3s. And you might want to read a scouting report on them if you don’t think they are physical.
Bruce Brown is an undersized slasher. Williams is an average athlete, average ball-handler and will get bullied at the 2. He is a 4 year spot up shooter.

Kinda make my point for me. If Brown is an undersized slasher and Willaims an average ballhandler…what the heck is Dillon Brooks? Honestly, he’s an undersized center with a VERY weak handle, below average athlete, haven’t seen enough of his jumpshot to speak…but if the highlights (or lack thereof) are any indication, he is most likely not a good outside shooter. So the question becomes, where can he play at the high major level? He certainly doens’t have the handle/change of direction to play the 3, to small for the 4/5…so what can he bring to the table? He can’t defend any position on the court either, to laterally challenged and too small.
Dillon Brooks is not a below average athlete. He is a better shooter than Brown, equal ballhandler to Williams… stronger, can rebound, can pass, can post up, has a great middle-game, has produced at absurd volume against 1&done talent repeatedly
“Dillon Brooks is not a below average athlete”…wow. “Equal ballhandler to Williams”…wow. No point in debating this one. I’ll leave you and Dillon Brooks alone
I’m not as down on Eric Davis as others, but in my view he’s a 2 that can’t really shoot consistently, but desires to play the 1. With respect to what each will do in college, Williams is FAR superior to Davis in the one thing both will be expected to do…shoot. I like Davis a bit more in terms of creating, but again, he’s not really a good ballhandler either. Definitely like Williams better on defense as well.
Doesn’t really matter though…neither are coming to UM. Davis simply isn’t coming here, and Williams probably won’t make it in for a vist prior to 8/15. Hopefully we land one of Coleman/Ali.
Kenny Williams was just offered by Georgetown. Think that was one of the big offers he was really hoping for.
I said a few days ago after watching him at the Peach Jam that he was going to be receiving more offers from high majors. Kid has a great shot off the bounce or catch and shoot, above average defender. OK State just offered as well.

I know this isn’t a conversation about an Arizona freshman, but Stanley Johnson plays strong. Really like that kid. Would not be surprised if he’s the best freshman in the country this year.
