Why Chris Beard will not be our next coach

  1. He has Texas in his blood.
  2. Large new contract with huge buyout
  3. His kids live in Abilene
  4. He is divorced and no way in heck does his ex let him bring those girls.

Number 4 is the most important.

Who thinks Chris Beard is gonna be our coach? I put those chances near zero…for the reasons you mention.

In the other threads, his name keeps coming up. It is not gonna happen. I agree near zero.

Can’t hurt to ask, but I never had any illusions that it would be an easy pull.

probably so but i understand his buyout (for non-Texas/Big12 schools) is $3M, not the biggest impediment IMO. But that is probably purposefully because they know he isnt interested in leaving Texas.
