Hahaha, well: so much for Nimari’s take that this was the best communicating team he’s been a part of portending great things: Phil took every opportunity to dump on the team’s level of communication defensively. 
Haha that was a bummer. But my take is that Phil knows they can be great defensively (or maybe that they need to be great), and so he’s going to be extra hard on them and not blow smoke about the defense.
Absolutely. This is the flipside of “spring training” player talk: Phil’s trying to send a message about what they expect. I’m not taking this as a sign of impending disaster. But I don’t think Phil would be harping on this if he were seeing the same thing Nimari is.
Or maybe Alabama is just that bad at defensive communication, lol.
