Seriously, when are we going to start to draw players like Arizona, UK, Duke, OSU, etc…???

No, this team needs a win more then anything to help get some of their confidence back. This isn’t a talent issue, this team is just young and people are having a hard time dealing with that because they have been spoiled by the success of past Michigan teams. Arizona is an experienced team with alot of talent vs Michigan a young team with alot of talent… UofA has guys like Tarz, Ashley, Gabe York, and Mconnell all those guys except Mconnell were 5 star players and they have stuck around in college for 3 years(Mconell’s case I believe he is a 5year guy). Compare that to Michigan who’s oldest player in their starting lineup is 20 year old junior Caris LeVert… that is a big deal. old and talented is going to beat young and talented more often then not. Not every freshman is like Trey Burke, GROB, and Stauskas… some take time before the light goes on. Kelly Obure on Kansas was a top 10 player last year in high school and he barely plays on a Kansas team that is not that great on the perimeter. Patience guys, it’s a long season Michigan is relying on alot of young players and this team went through a rough stretch. Let’s see how they respond the rest of the season
Youth is not an excuse in college basketball because of the current structure of the rules regrading entry into the NBA. Coaches know players are leaving once they have a good year, and need to adjust recruiting accordingly. Bottom line is that if you can’t replenish elite talent, you have down years. Roster turnover is an expectation rather than outlier. You either recruit at a high level or be content at having an elite team once every 4-5 years.

Who had better recruiting success from the following:
a) Michigan
b) Eastern Michigan
c) New Jersey Institute of Technology
…our current situation isn’t simply a recruiting problem.

It’s not the only issue but it is a big part of the problem. We are getting zero production from our freshmen. Zero. That can’t happen in today’s game. And Duncan Robinson is not going to change things much.

Seriously, What does that say about our coaching?

I agree it is not a problem of recruiting elite players but if we can’t bring in 3 impact freshman a year then we need to get more spike type players. People who will develop into good talent. I see Kam being good and impactful this year but Dawkins and Wilson will be great players to have in the future. Also with big men we either need to get elite big men that can impact right away or get at least 1 4 year big man every two years.

Seriously, What does that say about our coaching?
It says our Jim’s and Joe’s lost to their “who knows.”
So it’s not as simple as you like to make it.

So if I have this straight, we have more talent than the teams we lose to, so it can’t be a recruiting problem. We have superior coaching, so that’s not the issue. It must squarely be on the players for either not executing what they have been instructed to do, not playing hard enough, or playing selfishly.
Under any of this scenarios, or a combination thereof, it is the coach’s responsibility to put players on the floor that do execute, play hard, while making the team better. And if no combination of players on the roster can do that, it is on the coach for not obtaining players that have those capabilities. All this amounts to one thing, our team isn’t good enough right now and in my opinion it is both a talent and athleticism/toughness issue.
You like to spew the Jim/Joe stuff. All I asked was a simple question.
