“I’m not going to make excuses, but here’s an excuse.”

Yea I’m sure they were frustrated. This team does it to me too. I agree though it would be hard to say that after watching msg. It’s hard to deny that they have potential

You were pretty quiet during and after the OSU game, and will be the next time this mediocre teams loses to a terrible team, which you know will happen. When are you going to own that where they are at right now with a veteran squad isn’t good enough?

Good grief. No shame when you’re trying to justify a dead-ball trip. The media and spartans love to gush about how Izzo yells ('passionately coaches) during the game/no-nonsense/etc. But that all goes out the window when it’s in a losing effort and Izzo has to answer as to why it happened.

I want to see him get cleared out by somebody very large moving very quickly when he steps 10ft into the court one of these times.

Everyone thinks this season is to this point, and will likely end as, a disappointment. It’s also, at least not yet, a dumpster fire with no reason for hope. There’s rarely a happy medium amongst fans, but at least the guys who ride the highs are, ya know, supporting their team and the kids.

He wears his privilege like a badge of honor. Hard to blame him, since it’s essentially a tool to use to try to help his team win. But man is it obnoxious.

Great photos in the gallery tonight~ say what you will about the frustration watching this team, but it sure does feel good to beat Sparty no matter what

Man, Izzo gets sooo much credit, after the first matchup, for teaching the importance of the rivalry to his players, for using the rivalry as motivation, for galvanizing his troops, no matter how young!..and then, following a loss, immediately back-tracks and claims that his freshman didn’t understand the intensity level. The guy is a great coach, but such a terrible loser.

And not-at-all subtly throwing out that we had lost the last 4-5 matchups…bleh. Isn’t it michigan fans who are supposed to live in the past?

You know, for awhile I thought you were crazy, but I’m starting to think you’re right.

slightly off topic, but they are looking like they may end up with 13 losses heading into BTT. It would be GREAT to see them in the NIT. I mean, they might get a charity bid, but I can’t stop smiling thinking about that.

Izzo making “Im not making excuses, but…” excuses after a NIT loss would be priceless.

Sadly we sometimes get an attendance boost in this game by folks in green and white. This year they are a little less prevalent.

If we could ensure that sort of game by not going, well, I could commit to that.

I have never understood why our players do not chuck the ball at Izzo when he is on the court or run him over. I think it would be a technical foul every time. It would be a fun game inside the game.

I hope DJ dunks it on their entire team and yells in Izzo’s face the next time we play them.

Remember when it was universally acclaimed that Michigan goes as Zak Irvin goes?

He had 3 points, ZERO assists and 2/3 rebounds.

It’s so rewarding to see this team put together a game like that with everyone else contributing. Including X!

It was nice to see us Punk the Punks.

Truthfully, I think that has a lot to do with MSU being down more than anything.

There’s been a lot worse Michigan teams playing this game in the past, which usually coincides with a good MSU team. Sparty likes to invade Crisler when they know they’ll win. My guess is they didn’t have as many fans as usual there, in totals, not percentage.
