Televised High School Hoops

Selfishly, I love this. I’m not sure what affect it will have on High School Basketball but, I will enjoy actually watching the prospects instead of ingesting endless highlight reels.

There had already been attempts at something similar – “The Grind Session” was essentially a circuit of prep schools – but this one has all of the heavy hitters so it makes sense to put together because they are the teams that were already on ESPN all the time.

Would love it if they left the last two spots open for now and did an invite every couple of years to fill them based on which other prep schools have the quality players (e.g. Brewster one year, Sierra Canyon another, Prolific Prep etc). Feels like an opportunity to capitalize on the hot names

That was my thought too. A rotating invite based on projected roster. Makes sense. And I like that idea.

That’s a tough one for Jett and his team :joy:

Jett Howard for IMG and Tarris Reed for Link Prep in the championship :man_shrugging::eyes:

I am impressed with Oak Hill’s staying power. They were 25 years early in this HS powerhouse game but they haven’t really fallen off with the rise of sport schools like IMG

Thought Jett had a better game today. Impressed with his athleticism, handle and quickness. Looked good on defense with his mobility, quickness and anticipation.

Don’t love those 3pt numbers…but one game sample blah-blah-blah. I do like that he did more than just shoot threes it seems from the box score.
