Have to agree with LAW, Michigan will never swim in those waters again! Reputation and prestige outweigh the value Hoops will bring to the school. Go Blue!
These gloom and doom comments are silly. We won't improve as a team? Under JB, the vast majority of our players have shown significant individual improvement over their careers. If Amaker were still coaching, I would agree.By the way, something to chew on. We would all agree, I think, that Roy Williams and John Calipari are two of the most successful coaches in the business, right? And they both agree at a very high level? Yet, after Roy won his second national title at UNC, his team (after losing all its top guys) went 20-17 and went to the NIT. Similarly, just two years ago, Kentucky was an NIT team.
This is silly. We cannot expect to recruit like NC and Kentucky in any given year, let alone on a yearly basis. This is just not a good comparison at all.
It wasn’t a comparison, per see. He is showing that if two ELITE coaches at two BLUE BLOOD programs can miss the NCAA Tournament, then it’s foolish to run Beilein out of town for potentially doing the same.
Exactly. I’m demonstrating that if two Hall of Fame coaches at blue blood programs find themselves in a talent predicament in a given year due to early departures and can only make the NIT as a result, it can and does happen to anyone. And we might end up throwing a third HOF coach (Boeheim) into that mix this season.

Oh please. No one is running JB out of town. Not to bring up the dreaded “straw man” meme, but sheesh. Questioning recruiting or the team’s play this year is in no way, shape or form, running JB out of town.
This is just not a very good basketball team right now. They are likely to improve some, but it seems unrealistic to expect anything close to last year’s improvement. It also seems unlikely to expect another run like 2012/2013 in the near future unless recruiting improves.
People may disagree, but those do not sound like unreasonable views to me.
And no one said those views were unreasonable…
